Fonte delle scienze, vivaio di saperi. Lo ricorda la scritta sul frontone della sede centrale dell’Università intitolata all’imperatore svevo che l’ha fondata, il 5 giugno, molto probabilmente, di 799 anni fa. E l’Ateneo napoletano Federico II festeggia il plurisecolare anniversario con una serie di iniziative a partire proprio da lunedì 5 giugno.
La celebrazione di questa ricorrenza Buon compleanno Federico II è un appuntamento consolidato dal 2015 e scandisce la vita della comunità accademica in vista degli otto secoli che si raggiungeranno nel prossimo anno.
Si comincia, proprio nel giorno dell’istituzione, con il conferimento della Laurea magistrale honoris causa in geologia e geologia applicata ad Alberto Angela alle 11, nell’Aula magna storica, in corso Umberto 40
Introdotto dal rettore Matteo Lorito e da Vincenzo Morra, direttore del dipartimento di Scienze della terra, dell’ambiente e delle risorse, ne terrà la Laudatio Pasquale Raia, professore di paleontologia e paleoecologia. Seguirà la lectio magistralis di Alberto Angela. È prevista la diretta streaming e il collegamento nell’aula Pessina, al piano terra dell’edificio centrale.
Giovedì 8 giugno, alle 10.30, nel complesso dei Santi Marcellino e Festo, a largo San Marcellino, si prosegue con la Giornata dello studente federiciano. Prima edizione dell’iniziativa dedicata a tutti gli studenti della Federico II, che a vario titolo, tra musica, parole e immagini, racconteranno le loro esperienze da federiciani. Ci saranno studenti attori, musicisti, sportivi, studenti impegnati ‘oltre le aule’. Aprirà la mattinata il Rettore Matteo Lorito. A chiusura, i saluti della Prorettrice Rita Mastrullo e il DJ Set a cura degli studenti di F2 Radio Lab. L’evento, aperto a tutti, sarà anche trasmesso in streaming.
Le celebrazioni continuano venerdì 9 giugno, alle 16.30, nell’Aula Magna Storica, con la Premiazione dei laureati illustri 2023: Maurizio De Lucia, Procuratore di Palermo; Angela Natale, Presidente Boeing Italia; Alessandro Preziosi, Attore; Gennaro Sangiuliano, Ministro della Cultura. La cerimonia, su invito, sarà trasmessa in streaming.
Come consuetudine, anche quest’anno la Federico II festeggerà insieme alla città: alle 20.30 concerto in Piazza del Gesù. Protagonista, Goran Bregović, musicista e compositore bosniaco, accompagnato dalla sua band, la Wedding and Funeral Band, con trombe, tromboni, grancassa, clarinetto, sassofono e voci bulgare. I
Gran finale lunedì 19 giugno, alle 20, nel Cortile delle Statue, in via Palladino 39, con Amadè e Federico. Mozart torna a Napoli dopo 250 anni per il compleanno della Federico II. Spettacolo ingresso libero, con musiche di Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart interpretate dagli Alban Berg Ensemble. Tanti auguri.
Federico II University turns 799 years old. And celebrates with honorary degree to Alberto Angela
Source of sciences, vivarium of knowledge. This is recalled by the inscription on the front gable of the university’s headquarters named after the Swabian emperor who founded it, most likely on June 5, 799 years ago. And the Neapolitan University Federico II is celebrating the centuries-old anniversary with a series of initiatives starting right from Monday, June 5.
The celebration of this anniversary Happy Birthday Federico II has been a well-established event since 2015 and marks the life of the academic community in view of the eight centuries that will be reached in the coming year.
It begins, on the very day of the institution, with the conferral of the Laurea magistrale honoris causa in geology and applied geology to Alberto Angela at 11 a.m., in the historic Aula magna, Corso Umberto 40
Introduced by Rector Matteo Lorito and Vincenzo Morra, director of the Department of Earth, Environmental and Resource Sciences, Pasquale Raia, professor of paleontology and paleoecology, will deliver the Laudatio. There will then be a lectio magistralis by Alberto Angela. Live streaming and connection is provided in the Pessina Lecture Hall on the ground floor of the Central Building.
Thursday, June 8, at 10:30 a.m., at the Saints Marcellinus and Festus complex, in San Marcellino largo, the celebrations will continue with the Frederican Student Day. First edition of the initiative dedicated to all Federico II students, who in various ways, through music, words and images, will tell their experiences as Federicians. There will be student actors, musicians, athletes, and students engaged ‘beyond the classroom.’ Rector Matteo Lorito will open the morning. At the close, greetings from Provost Rita Mastrullo and DJ Set by the students of F2 Radio Lab. The event, open to all, will also be streamed.
The ceremonies will continue on Friday, June 9, at 4:30 p.m., in the Aula Magna Storica, with the Awarding of Distinguished Graduates 2023: Maurizio De Lucia, Prosecutor of Palermo; Angela Natale, President Boeing Italia; Alessandro Preziosi, Actor; Gennaro Sangiuliano, Minister of Culture. The ceremony, by invitation, will be streamed.
As usual, the Federico II will celebrate with the city again this year: at 8:30 p.m. a concert in Piazza del Gesù. Starring, Goran Bregović, Bosnian musician and composer, accompanied by his band, the Wedding and Funeral Band, with trumpets, trombones, bass drum, clarinet, saxophone and Bulgarian vocals.
Grand finale on Monday, June 19, at 8 p.m. in the Cortile delle Statue, 39 Palladino Street, with Amadè and Federico. Mozart returns to Naples after 250 years for the Federico II’s birthday.
