Sold out e standing ovation per la notte delle stelle alla Reggia di Caserta. Si conclude con numeri straordinari la kermesse “Un’estate da re”.
12mila spettatori, 4 eventi con artisti di fama mondiale come Zucchero “Sugar” Fornaciari, Roberto Bolle, Plácido Domingo e Il Volo, e uno spettacolo-omaggio a Luigi Vanvitelli (nell’ambito dell’anno delle Celebrazioni Vanvitelliane) con Mariano Rigillo ed Enzo Salomone andato in onda in live streaming sull’Ecosistema digitale per la cultura della Regione Campania.
La rassegna ospitata dal 13 luglio al 4 agosto nella dimora borbonica progettata da Vanvitelli è stata programmata e finanziata dalla Regione Campania (fondi POC 2014-2020), organizzata e promossa dalla Scabec in collaborazione con il Ministero della Cultura, la Direzione della Reggia di Caserta, il Comune di Caserta e il Teatro Municipale “Giuseppe Verdi” di Salerno, con la direzione artistica del Maestro Antonio Marzullo.
Ieri sera, nei cortili del Palazzo Reale, il pubblico ha assistito a un concerto memorabile che ha visto sullo stesso palco il tenore spagnolo Plácido Domingo e Il Volo (Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto e Gianluca Ginoble), il gruppo italiano che sta spopolando in tutto il mondo, assieme a un sorprendente e indiscusso talento dell’opera lirica, la giovane soprano Daria Rybak.
L’apertura, affidata alle note del Nabucco di Giuseppe Verdi (Ouverture), è stata eseguita dall’Orchestra Filarmonica “Giuseppe Verdi” di Salerno diretta dal Maestro Marcello Rota. Poi la scena è stata tutta per Domingo (150 ruoli, più di 4.000 esibizioni, tra le stelle della celebre Hollywood Walk of Fame), che con Nemico della Patria (Giordano, Chénier) ha aperto un concerto che ha alternato le più note melodie di Puccini, Mascagni, Bizet, Leoncavallo (O mio babbino caro, Intermezzo – Cavalleria Rusticana, Au fond du temple saint, Mattinata) con brani immortali come My Way di Paul Anka e Torna a Surriento di Ernesto De Curtis, in un susseguirsi di cambi di voci e di protagonisti che hanno cantato in assolo e in duetto, per poi esibirsi insieme nel gran finale, concedendo il bis di Libiamo ne’lieti calici (Giuseppe Verdi, La traviata), a cui è seguita una significativa standing ovation.
Un tributo che il pubblico di Caserta (e non solo, viste la presenza di spettatori provenienti da tutta Italia e dall’estero) ha voluto dedicare in particolar modo al Maestro madrileno, per la seconda volta in concerto alla Reggia dopo la partecipazione alla V edizione di Un’Estate da RE nel 2020, anno di rinascita dopo la pandemia.
«Mi ha fatto tanto piacere ritornare in questo posto incredibile — conclude Domingo, intervistato ai microfoni di Radio Monte Carlo, radio ufficiale di Un’Estate da re, assieme a Piero Barone (Il Volo) —. Ho cantato qui nel mio primo concerto dopo il Covid e la Reggia mi ha portato tanta fortuna, perché da qui ho ricominciato a cantare e ancora non mi fermo. È un luogo meraviglioso».

The festival hosted from July 13 to August 4 in the Bourbon mansion designed by Vanvitelli was programmed and financed by the Campania Region (POC 2014-2020 funds), organized and promoted by Scabec in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, the Directorate of the Royal Palace of Caserta, the Municipality of Caserta and the Municipal Theater “Giuseppe Verdi” of Salerno, under the artistic direction of Maestro Antonio Marzullo.
Yesterday evening, in the courtyards of the Royal Palace, the audience was witness of a memorable concert featuring on the same stage Spanish tenor Plácido Domingo and Il Volo (Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble), the Italian group that is booming all over the world, together with an amazing and undisputed talent of opera, young soprano Daria Rybak.
The opening, assigned to the notes of Giuseppe Verdi’s Nabucco (Overture), was performed by the “Giuseppe Verdi” Philharmonic Orchestra of Salerno conducted by Maestro Marcello Rota. Then the stage was all for Domingo (150 roles, more than 4. 000 performances, among the stars of the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame), who with Nemico della Patria (Giordano, Chénier) opened a concert that alternated the best-known melodies of Puccini, Mascagni, Bizet, Leoncavallo (O mio babbino caro, Intermezzo – Cavalleria Rusticana, Au fond du temple saint, Mattinata) with immortal songs such as Paul Anka’s My Way and Ernesto De Curtis’ Torna a Surriento, in a succession of changes of voices and protagonists who sang solos and duets, and then performed together in the grand finale, granting an encore of Libiamo ne’lieti calici (Giuseppe Verdi, La traviata), which was followed by a significant standing ovation.
A tribute that the audience of Caserta (and not only, given the presence of spectators from all over Italy and abroad) wanted to dedicate especially to the Madrid-born Maestro, for the second time in concert at the Reggia after his participation in the V edition of Un’Estate da RE in 2020, the year of rebirth after the pandemic.
“It gave me so much pleasure to return to this incredible place,” concluded Domingo, interviewed at the microphones of Radio Monte Carlo, the official radio station of Un’Estate da re, along with Piero Barone (Il Volo). “I sang here in my first concert after Covid and the Reggia brought me so much luck, because from here I started singing again and I still don’t stop. It is a wonderful place.”
