Giornata europea della cultura ebraica. Domenica 10 settembre torna l’appuntamento giunto alla ventiquattresima edizione. La manifestazione che apre alla cittadinanza le porte di Sinagoghe, musei e altri siti ebraici, invitando ad approfondire la conoscenza di ebrei ed ebraismo, si svolgerà quest’anno in Italia in ben 101 località, distribuite in sedici regioni, da nord a sud alle isole.
L’iniziativa, alla quale partecipano trenta Paesi europei, è coordinata e promossa dall’Unione delle comunità ebraiche italiane. Con un tema inedito, la bellezza, filo rosso tra le centinaia di eventi che saranno organizzati in tutto il Paese.
Un’occasione per far conoscere e valorizzare il patrimonio storico, architettonico, artistico e archeologico ebraico in Italia, e per riflettere sulle peculiari declinazioni del “bello” da un punto di vista ebraico.
A Napoli la giornata si aprirà nella sinagoga di via Cappella Vecchia 31, dove gli ospiti saranno accompagnati alla scoperta della cultura e delle tradizioni ebraiche con le visite guidate alla Sinagoga (alle 10.00 alle 10.45 e alle 12.15 ingresso libero su prenotazione a napoliebraica@gmail.com), recentemente risistemata con fondi della Regione Campania.
Alle 11.30 il rabbino capo della Comunità ebraica di Napoli Cesare Moscati, parlerà de “La bellezza nel cantico dei cantici”. Mentre alle 17.00 iGiuseppe Cuscito terrà una conferenza dal titolo “ Bella come la luna, splendente come il sole – la bellezza del cosmo nella cultura ebraica antica”.
Quest’anno, grazie all’impegno dell’associazione Memoriae – Museo della Shoah sarà possibile visitare il Vecchio cimitero ebraico (via del Cimitero israelita angolo via Aquileia), e la mostra “Ascarelli: un nome e una storia lunga centocinquat’anni” con due visite guidate (alle 9.45 e alle 11.15 solo su prenotazione al numero 3387799836).

European Day of Jewish Culture. On Sunday, September 10, the event, now in its 24th edition, returns. The event, which opens the doors of synagogues, museums and other Jewish sites to citizens, inviting them to learn more about Jews and Judaism, will take place this year in Italy in as many as 101 locations, distributed in sixteen regions, from north to south to the islands.
The initiative, in which 30 European countries are participating, is coordinated and promoted by the Union of Italian Jewish Communities. With an unprecedented theme, beauty, a red thread among the hundreds of events that will be organized throughout the country.
An occasion to raise awareness and appreciation of the Jewish historical, architectural, artistic and archaeological heritage in Italy, and to reflect on the peculiar declinations of “beauty” from a Jewish point of view.
In Naples, the day will open at the synagogue in Via Cappella Vecchia 31, where guests will be taken on a discovery of Jewish culture and traditions with guided tours of the Synagogue (at 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. free admission by reservation at napoliebraica@gmail.com), recently renovated with funds from the Campania Region.
At 11:30 a.m. the Chief Rabbi of the Jewish Community of Naples, Cesare Moscati, will speak on “Beauty in the Canticle of Canticles.” While at 5 p.m. Giuseppe Cuscito will give a lecture entitled ” Beautiful as the moon, shining as the sun – the beauty of the cosmos in ancient Jewish culture.”
This year, thanks to the efforts of the Memoriae Association – Museum of the Shoah, it will be possible to visit the Old Jewish Cemetery (Israelite Cemetery Street corner Aquileia Street), and the exhibition “Ascarelli: a name and a history one hundred and fifty years long” with two guided tours (at 9:45 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. by reservation only at 3387799836).
