“Adagio Napoletano”. Lo propone la fotografa Stefania Adami con una mostra che inaugura da “Movimento Aperto” in via Duomo 290/c domani, mercoledì 20 settembre, alle 17.
L’esposizione, curata da Giovanni Ruggiero, inaugura la nuova stagione espositiva dell’associazione culturale napoletana guidata da Ilia Tufano.
Un Adagio ispirato dai versi omonimi di Roberto Murolo: «Si vuje vulite bbene a ‘stu paese, fermateve ‘nu poco rint’’e viche, guardate rint’’e vasce e for’’e cchiese. Venite insieme a me, pe’ strade antiche, invece e cammenà vicino ô mare…».
Un invito cui l’autrice, di origine toscana, non ha saputo resistere: «All’età di 27 anni – racconta – lavoravo a Napoli e abitavo appena sopra i Quartieri Spagnoli. La mattina, per non ritardare, attraversavo i Quartieri a passo svelto, spesso di corsa, ma sempre a testa bassa per non guardare e per non farmi notare. Ero la “furastiera” di una Napoli distante, televisivamente violenta e complicata. Ma, per fortuna, ero anche ribelle al pregiudizio e al luogo comune, così un giorno decisi di “sfidare la sorte”. Iniziai a rallentare. Ad alzare lo sguardo. E passo dopo passo, con sorpresa, quei malfamati vicoli senza sole diventarono la melodia più accogliente. Si tinsero di colore umano, offrendomi un ventre materno popolato di sorrisi nuovi e d’inverosimile generosità».
Il suo è un adagio dalle tinte barocche (foto) tra ricchezza e drammaticità del quotidiano. Il risultato è squillante. In ogni scatto, in ogni posa, c’è la complicità da parte di tutti i protagonisti/artefici dell’immagine, protagonisti e autrice. Ma Stefania immortala persone e luoghi con rispetto, senza vorace curiosità o voglia di sensazionalismo.
Spinta dalla passione per l’obbiettivo sin dall’età di 11 anni, per lei la fotografia è sempre stata strumento d’incontro con le altre anime. Numerose le mostre personali e collettive in tutta Italia e le pubblicazioni di libri fotografici.
L’opera “L’inquiLinea del 2014” è esposta in via permanente nel Museo a cielo aperto di “Bibbiena Città della Fotografia”. Nel 2022, proprio con “Adagio Napoletano” ottiene il premio “Fosco Maraini”. Nel 2023 la Federazione italiana delle associazioni fotografiche, la nomina Maestro della fotografia Italiana.

“Adagio Napoletano” by Stefania Adami: when photographing is meeting other souls
“Neapolitan Adagio.” The photographer Stefania Adami proposes this with an exhibition opening at “Movimento Aperto” at 290 Duomo Street/c tomorrow, Wednesday, September 20th, at 5 p.m.
The exhibition, curated by Giovanni Ruggiero, inaugurates the new exhibit season of the Neapolitan cultural association led by Ilia Tufano.
An Adagio inspired by Roberto Murolo’s eponymous verses, “Si vuje vulite b bene a ‘stu paese, fermateve ‘nu poco rint”e viche, guard rint”e vasce e for”e cchiese. Come with me, along ancient streets, instead and cammenà near the sea….”
An invitation the Tuscan-born author could not resist: “At the age of 27,” she recounts, “I was working in Naples and living just above the Quartieri Spagnoli. In the mornings, so as not to delay, I would walk through the Quartieri at a brisk pace, often running, but always with my head down so as not to look or be noticed. I was the “furastiera” of a distant, televised violent and complicated Naples. But, fortunately, I was also rebelling against prejudice and cliché, so one day I decided to ” challenge the odds.” I began to slow down. To look up. And step by step, with surprise, those infamous sunless alleys became the most welcoming tune. They became tinged with human color, offering me a maternal womb populated with new smiles and unlikely generosity.”
Hers is a baroque-hued adagio between the richness and drama of the everyday. The result is vivid. In every shot, in every pose, there is complicity on the part of all the protagonists/image makers, protagonists and author. But Stefania captures people and places with respect, without voracious curiosity or desire for sensationalism.
Driven by a passion for the camera since the age of 11, for her photography has always been a tool for meeting other souls. Numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout Italy and publications of photographic books.
The work “L’inquiLinea of 2014” is on permanent display in the open-air museum of “Bibbiena City of Photography.” In 2022, it was with “Adagio Napoletano” that he was awarded the “Fosco Maraini” prize. In 2023, the Italian Federation of Photographic Associations, named her Master of Italian Photography.
