L’Orto botanico napoletano si anima di fiabe d’autunno. “Nel regno di Oz” va in scena oggi sabato 28 ottobre (ore 11, repliche il 29, ed ancora il 4 e 5 novembre). Continua così la programmazione della rassegna teatrale ideata ed organizzata dall’Associazione I Teatrini e dall’Università degli Studi Federico II, nell’ambito de La Scena Sensibile con il sostegno del MIC – Ministero della Cultura, della Regione Campania e del Comune di Napoli.
Quattro streghe, quattro punti cardinali e una casetta piccina che, dopo un terribile uragano, atterra nel mezzo del grande Orto botanico di Napoli trasformandolo nel “Regno di Oz”.
Un suggestivo allestimento del celebre classico della letteratura per l’infanzia dello scrittore statunitense Lyman Frank Baum, ambientato da Giovanna Facciolo negli spazi all’aperto dell’Orto napoletano e prodotto dall’associazione I Teatrini in collaborazione con l’Università Federico II di Napoli.
Lo spettacolo è interpretato da Adele Amato de Serpis, Alessandro Esposito, Monica Costigliola, Valentina Carbonara, che danno vita alle avventure della piccola Dorothy e dei suoi compagni, ovvero lo Spaventapasseri senza cervello, il Boscaiolo senza cuore ed il Leone senza coraggio (costumi e oggetti di scena sono di Anna Radetich e Monica Costigliola).
Protagonisti, insieme agli spettatori, di una avventura senza tempo, che alla perfidia contrappone la forza dell’onestà e del coraggio, premiato alla fine solo grazie alla virtù e alla tenacia di tutti, attori e pubblico.
Spiga la regista Giovanna Facciolo: «In questo spettacolo – sottolinea la regista Giovanna Facciolo – i ragazzi si fanno partecipi di un percorso di crescita. Si parte con la mancanza di qualcosa che spinge i protagonisti a cercare, a ritrovare o a conquistare parti di sé importanti per sentirsi un po’ più felici. E per fare questo bisogna camminare, muoversi tra le piante, dunque crescere».

Naples Botanical Garden/Autumn fairy tales: “In the Kingdom of Oz,” a timeless adventure where honesty and courage win out
The Neapolitan Botanical Garden comes alive with fall fairy tales. “In the Kingdom of Oz” will be performed today, Saturday, October 28 (at 11 a.m., with repeats on November 29 and November 4 and 5). Thus continues the program of the theatrical review conceived and organized by the Associazione I Teatrini and the University Federico II, in the framework of La Scena Sensibile, with the support of the MIC – Ministry of Culture, the Region of Campania and the Municipality of Naples.
Four witches, four cardinal points and a tiny house that, after a terrible hurricane, land in the middle of the great Botanical Garden of Naples and transform it into the “Kingdom of Oz”.
An evocative staging of the celebrated classic of children’s literature by the American author Lyman Frank Baum, set by Giovanna Facciolo in the open spaces of the Neapolitan Garden and produced by the Association I Teatrini in collaboration with the Federico II University of Naples.
The show is performed by Adele Amato de Serpis, Alessandro Esposito, Monica Costigliola, and Valentina Carbonara, who bring to life the adventures of little Dorothy and her companions, namely the Brainless Scarecrow, the Heartless Woodsman and the Courageless Lion (costumes and props are by Anna Radetich and Monica Costigliola).
Protagonists, together with the spectators, of a timeless adventure that contrasts perfidy with the strength of honesty and courage, rewarded in the end only thanks to the virtue and tenacity of everyone, actors and audience.
Explains director Giovanna Facciolo: “In this show,” stresses director Giovanna Facciolo, “the children become participants in a journey of growth. It starts with the lack of something that pushes the protagonists to search, find or conquer important parts of themselves in order to feel a little happier. And to do this one must walk, move among the plants, therefore grow.”
