Napoli celebra il giorno del ricordo con le scuole. Nella sala della Loggia del Maschio Angioino (foto) gli alunni del liceo Antonio Genovesi e dell’Isis Giustino Fortunato hanno partecipato all’incontro (promosso dall’assessorato all’istruzione e alle famiglie) dedicato al giorno del ricordo, istituito per conservare e rinnovare la memoria delle vittime delle foibe e l’esodo degli istriani, dei fiumani e dei dalmati nel secondo dopoguerra.
Con Maura Striano, sono intervenuti Diego Lazzarich, delegato per la Città di Napoli dell’associazione nazionale Venezia-Giulia e Dalmazia, e Giovanni Stelli, presidente della società di Studi fiumani di Roma, insieme con esuli che hanno vissuto quelle vicende storiche.
Spiega Striano: «Celebrazioni come il giorno del ricordo sono fondamentali per trasmettere gli insegnamenti della Storia alle giovani generazioni in questo senso, è stato importante coinvolgere i giovani tramite testimonianze degli esuli. Inoltre, l’esodo degli istriani, dei fiumani e dei dalmati, ha avuto riflessi significativi anche sulla storia della nostra Città».
E si pensa già a coinvolgere le università campane per diffondere la conoscenza di questi eventi storici a un numero sempre maggiore di ragazze e ragazzi.

Naples celebrates the Day of Remembrance with schools. In the Hall of the Loggia at the Maschio Angioino (photo), students from the Antonio Genovesi High School and Isis Giustino Fortunato participated in the meeting (sponsored by the Department of Education and Families) dedicated to the Day of Remembrance, established to preserve and renew the memory of the victims of the foibe and the exodus of Istrians, Fiumans and Dalmatians after the second world war.
Joining Councillor Maura Striano were Diego Lazzarich, delegate for the City of Naples of the National Association of Venice-Julia and Dalmatia, and Giovanni Stelli, president of the Society of Fiuman Studies in Rome, along with exiles who lived through those historic events.
Explains Striano, “Celebrations such as the Day of Remembrance are essential to transmit the lessons of History to the younger generations in this sense, it was important to involve them through testimonies of exiles. Moreover, the exodus of the Istrians, Fiumans and Dalmatians also had significant reflections on the history of our City.”
And there are already plans to involve universities in Campania to spread knowledge of these historical events to more and more girls and boys.
