Anime partenopee. Si intitola così il reading teatralizzato che si svolgerà domani, venerdì 31 maggio, in due turni, alle 19 e alle 20, nella chiesa di Santa Luciella ai librai.
Un viaggio tra parole e musica in cui il pubblico incontrerà mondi di ieri: Enea e Didone, Ulisse e Penelope, Orfeo ed Euridice. Esistenze di un’altra era che racconteranno, canteranno le loro storie, le loro passioni come se pensassero in napoletano, come se il presente li riguardasse. A Napoli dove l’eterno passato che si fa eterno presente. Dopo lo spettacolo, imperdibile visita guidata nel cimitero sotterraneo custode del famoso teschio con le orecchie.
Santa Luciella è una piccola chiesa nel cuore del centro antico di Napoli, nel vicolo che ai tempi dell’antica Roma chiamavano “vicus Cornelianus” (oggi vico Santa Luciella): oggi unisce San Biagio dei Librai a San Gregorio Armeno.
La chiesa fu fondata poco prima del 1327 da Bartolomeo di Capua, giureconsulto e consigliere politico di Carlo II d’Angiò e di Roberto I nonché committente di alcuni importanti portali gotici per S. Lorenzo Maggiore e S. Domenico Maggiore e fondatore nel 1314 della chiesa di San Maria di Montevergine. Santa Luciella, abbandonata da più di 30 anni, è stata riaperta grazie alla tenacia e al lavoro dell’associazione Respiriamo arte il 5 aprile 2019.
L’associazione è motore di un progetto che punta a valorizzare la chiesa con visite guidate ed eventi, ma anche a farne un luogo di inclusione sociale proponendo momenti aggregativi per le persone del quartiere: scuola di canto, lezioni gratuite per i bambini dedite a temi fondamentali quali la legalità e l’educazione civica.

Respiriamo arte/ Santa Luciella ai librai: traveling among Neapolitan souls. If the public meets Aeneas and Dido
Neapolitan souls. This is the title of the theatrical reading that will take place tomorrow, Friday, May 31st, in two rounds, at 7 pm and 8 pm, in the church of Santa Luciella ai librai.
A journey between words and music in which the audience will encounter worlds of the past: Aeneas and Dido, Ulysses and Penelope, Orpheus and Eurydice. Existences of another time, who will tell, sing their stories, their passions, as if they were thinking in Neapolitan, as if the present concerned them. In Naples, where the eternal past becomes the eternal present. After the show, an unmissable guided tour in the underground cemetery, guardian of the famous skull with ears.
Santa Luciella is a small church in the heart of the ancient center of Naples, in the alley that in the days of ancient Rome they called “vicus Cornelianus” (today vico Santa Luciella): today it joins San Biagio dei Librai with San Gregorio Armeno.
The church was founded shortly before 1327 by Bartolomeo di Capua, a lawyer and political advisor to Charles II of Anjou and Robert I, who also commissioned some important Gothic portals for S. Lorenzo Maggiore and S. Domenico Maggiore, and in 1314 founded the church of S. Maria di Montevergine. Santa Luciella, abandoned for more than 30 years, was reopened on April 5, 2019 thanks to the tenacity and work of the Associazione Respiriamo arte.
The association is the driving force behind a project that aims to enhance the church through guided tours and events, but also to make it a place of social integration by offering aggregation moments for the people of the neighborhood: singing school, free classes for children dedicated to fundamental themes such as legality and civic education.
