Musica d’estate al Museo campano di Capua. Due concerti imperdibili: sabato 13 luglio saranno di scena due pianisti provenienti dagli Stati Uniti, esattamente dall’Università della Florida del Sud di Tampa. Alle 20, Ghadeer Abaido, pianista giordano-palestinese, eseguirà la Ciaccona di Bach, le Fantasie di Brahms e una serie di studi di Chopin.
A seguire, alle 21, sarà la volta di Svetozar Ivanov, che porterà sul palco un programma affascinante e variegato. Con alcuni Preludi dall’op.11 di Scriabin e una serie di tre audio-vignette, quadri poetico musicali con brani e testi che spaziano da Alexander Scriabin a John Clare, da Kaija Saariaho George Crumb e Apollinaire, da Henry Cowell, Luciano Berio e Edgar Alla Poe, per concludere con la monumentale Sonata op.111 di Beethoven.
Domenica 14 luglio alle 11.15, invece, i due pianisti Ghadeer Abaido e Svetozar Ivanov (foto) si esibiranno in duo, con un programma eclettico dal titolo “Fancy” (fantasia) con una combinazione di brani di Bach, Mozart, Lang, Carleton e Schubert sul tema della fantasia. Il concerto sarà arricchito dalla voce registrata di Seth Travaglino, che reciterà la poesia “Fancy” di John Keats.
La rassegna “Luglio al Museo Summer Concert” non finisce qui. Nuovi concerti e appuntamenti riprenderanno a partire dal 19 luglio 2024, continuando a portare la grande musica nel suggestivo scenario del Museo Campano di Capua.
Ghadeer Abaido è una pianista giordano-palestinese. Laureata presso il Conservatorio Nazionale di Musica della Giordania si è perfezionata presso le Università della Florida del Sud e dello Iowa. Ha seguito masterclass ed ha partecipato a vari festival internazionali. Ha scritto musica per film e alcune sue colonne sonore hanno ottenuto due premi Lynx e sono state presentate al Dubai International Film Festival.
Ghadeer è stata anche attivista di War Child per rifugiati in Giordania, dove ha anche eseguito i concerti di Caijkovskij e di Liszt sotto la direzione di Mohammed Uthman Siddiq e Jose Arean. Suona in duo con William Brown, realizzando composizioni originali e trascrizioni di brani classici per marimba e pianoforte. È docente presso l’Università della Florida del Sud.
Svetozar Ivanov ha conseguito la laurea in pianoforte presso il Conservatorio Nazionale Bulgaro e l’Università del Michigan. Professore di pianoforte presso l’Università della Florida del Sud – dove è anche direttore artistico della Steinway Piano Series – è artist faculty al Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival nel Vermont, al Brancaleoni Music Festival in Italia, al Prague Piano Festival e al Walled City Music Festival in Irlanda del Nord. I suoi ultimi progetti video includono Music of Shadows e Poetry Series, raccolta di 12 cortometraggi ispirata alla poesia.
La rassegna al Museo di Capua è sostenuta dal Ministero della cultura e dalla Regione Campania. Il costo dei biglietti è di 6 euro l’intero e 3 euro il ridotto per i giovani entro i 25 anni. Sono previste anche forme di abbonamento.

Capua/ July at the Campanian Museum: Ghadeer Abaido and Svetozar Ivanov, 2 pianists inspired by fancy
Summer music at the Campania Museum in Capua. Two concerts not to be missed: On Saturday, July 13th, two pianists from the United States, specifically from the University of South Florida in Tampa, will perform. At 8 p.m., Ghadeer Abaido, a Jordanian-Palestinian pianist, will perform Bach’s Chaconne, Brahms’ Fantasias and a series of Chopin etudes.
Next, at 21:00, it will be Svetozar Ivanov’s turn to bring a fascinating and varied program to the stage. It will include some preludes from Scriabin’s Op. 11 and a series of three audio vignettes, poetic musical pictures with excerpts and texts ranging from Alexander Scriabin to John Clare, Kaija Saariaho, George Crumb and Apollinaire, Henry Cowell, Luciano Berio and Edgar Alla Poe, concluding with Beethoven’s monumental Sonata Op. 111.
On Sunday, July 14th, at 11:15 a.m., pianists Ghadeer Abaido and Svetozar Ivanov (photo) will perform as a duo in an eclectic program entitled “Fancy,” a combination of pieces by Bach, Mozart, Lang, Carleton and Schubert on the theme of fantasy. The concert will be enhanced by the recorded voice of Seth Travaglino reciting the poem “Fancy” by John Keats.
The July at the Museum summer concert series does not end here. New concerts and dates will be added starting July 19th, continuing to bring great music to the evocative setting of Capua’s Museo Campano.
Ghadeer Abaido is a Jordanian-Palestinian pianist. A graduate of Jordan’s National Conservatory of Music, she continued her studies at the Universities of South Florida and Iowa. She has attended master classes and participated in various international festivals. She has written music for films, and some of her soundtracks have won two Lynx Awards and were presented at the Dubai International Film Festival.
Ghadeer was also a war child activist for refugees in Jordan, where she also performed concertos by Tchaikovsky and Liszt under the direction of Mohammed Uthman Siddiq and Jose Arean.
Svetozar Ivanov studied piano at the Bulgarian National Conservatory and graduated at the University of Michigan. He is Professor of Piano at the University of South Florida-where he is also Artistic director of the Steinway Piano Series-and Artist in Residence at the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival in Vermont, the Brancaleoni Music Festival in Italy, the Prague Piano Festival, and the Walled City Music Festival in Northern Ireland. His recent video projects include Music of Shadows and Poetry Series, a collection of 12 short films inspired by poetry.
The festival at the Capua Museum is supported by the Ministry of Culture and the Campania Region. Tickets cost 6 euros full and 3 euros reduced for young people under 25. Subscription forms are also available.
