L’Orto Botanico di Napoli manterrà le porte aperte nel mese di agosto offrendo un’oasi di fresco e cultura sia ai tanti turisti che ai residenti che restano in città. L’iniziativa si ripete dopo il successo riscontrato nell’estate 2023, chiaro segno di quanto sia attrattivo il patrimonio artistico, museale e naturalistico di Napoli, di cui l‘Orto botanico dell’Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II è una parte importante.
L’ottocentesca struttura sarà aperta dal 9 al 14 agosto e dal 19 al 23 agosto, dalle ore 9 alle 14. Situato nel cuore del Centro storico di Napoli, in via Foria, il Giardino Botanico, polmone verde della zona, nel contesto di caldo intenso di questo periodo in particolare, costituisce un’oasi di frescura creando un microclima più piacevole. Percorrendo i viali, i visitatori potranno passeggiare e godere delle aree più riparate dalla calura del giardino come il felceto, l’agrumeto, gli alberi secolari, i prati e le fontane, e visitare anche le sale del Museo di paleobotanica ed etnobotanica dove sono esposti fossili vegetali, modelli in cotto e in resina, diorami e un albero filogenetico tridimensionale realizzato in metallo e resine.
L’Orto Botanico consente non solo di trascorrere qualche ora al fresco e nella natura, ma anche piacevoli serate grazie all’organizzazione di eventi a tema con la collaborazione di associazioni ed enti. Iniziative che contribuiscono a rendere il Giardino di via Foria sempre più un punto di riferimento e di ritrovo dell’estate in città.
L’apertura straordinaria è resa possibile grazie alla disponibilità del personale dell’Ateneo federiciano, mostrando la capacità della struttura di andare incontro alle esigenze di turisti e cittadini.

The Naples Botanical Garden will open its doors in August, offering an oasis of coolness and culture to the many tourists and residents who remain in the city. The initiative will be repeated after its success in the summer of 2023, a clear sign of the attractiveness of the artistic, museum and natural heritage of Naples, of which the Botanical Garden of the University of Naples Federico II is an important part.
The nineteenth-century structure will be open from August 9th to 14th and from August 19th to 23rd, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Located in the heart of the historic center of Naples, on Via Foria, the Botanical Garden, the green lung of the area, represents an oasis of coolness, creating a more pleasant microclimate, especially in the context of the intense heat of this period.
Walking along the avenues, visitors can enjoy the areas most sheltered from the heat of the garden, such as the fern grove, the citrus grove, ancient trees, lawns and fountains, and also visit the halls of the Museum of Palaeobotany and Ethnobotany, where plant fossils, terracotta and resin models, dioramas and a three-dimensional phylogenetic tree made of metal and resins are exhibited.
The Botanical Garden is not only a place to spend a few hours in the coolness of nature, but also to spend pleasant evenings, thanks to the organization of themed events in collaboration with associations and organizations. Initiatives that contribute to make the garden of Via Foria more and more a landmark and meeting point of the summer in the city.
