Dai migranti ai minori, dalle famiglie ai disabili. Al Suor Orsola (foto) nasce un corso di laurea in scienze del servizio sociale focalizzato su diritti e inclusione le grandi emergenze per gli operatori nel terzo millennio.
“Scienze del servizio sociale: diritti e inclusione” sarà la principale novità dell’offerta formativa del nuovo anno accademico dell’Ateneo napoletano, la più antica libera Università italiana, che anche nel 2024 è risultata tra le migliori Università italiane per la spiccata attenzione al futuro occupazionale dei suoi laureati (fonte AlmaLaurea).
Il corso non prevede test d’ingresso ma, come da tradizione del sistema formativo del Suor Orsola, si forma su un numero programmato di massimo 200 studenti. Immatricolazioni aperte fino al 4 novembre. Avvio dei corsi il 30 settembre.
Spiegano Stefania Ferraro e Ciro Pizzo, presidenti del nuovo corso: «In un Paese con oltre 5 milioni di residenti stranieri, oltre centomila migranti non regolari sbarcati ogni anno negli ultimi 25 anni e un numero di separazioni e divorzi in costante aumento (+22% secondo gli ultimi dati Istat la crescita nell’ultimo anno monitorato) la figura dell’assistente sociale diventa sempre più importante nel sistema Welfare italiano ed è sempre più importante che sia adeguatamente formata per stare al passo con le nuove esigenze sociali».
Assistenti sociali ma non solo. Il nuovo corso di laurea del Suor Orsola formerà più in generale nuovi profili professionali del lavoro sociale, caratterizzati da una solida preparazione teorica declinata sulla pratica che, anche in conformità delle linee guida internazionali della Global Definition of Social Work, approvata dall’International Federation of Social Workers e dalla General Assembly of International Association of Schools of Social Work, siano in grado di promuovere il cambiamento sociale, lo sviluppo sociale, la coesione sociale, nonché l’empowerment e l’emancipazione delle persone.
Tra le nuove figure ci sarà il tecnico del reinserimento e dell’integrazione sociale che svolge compiti di prevenzione del disagio e di inserimento sociale e lavorativo e concorre alla rimozione dei fattori dell’emarginazione sociale. La sua funzione è particolarmente rilevante in materia di attivazione dei soggetti esclusi dal mondo del lavoro.
Gli studenti che lo frequenteranno avranno sbocchi occupazionali in strutture pubbliche (aziende sanitarie locali, aziende ospedaliere, enti locali e ministeri) e strutture private e nel terzo settore (case famiglia, centri di riabilitazione, associazioni di promozione sociale, organizzazioni pubbliche nazionali, sovranazionali e internazionali, organizzazioni non governative impegnate in attività di cooperazione internazionale).

Suor Orsola Benincasa/ A new degree course is born: social workers are specializing in rights and inclusion
From migrants to minors, from families to the disabled. At Suor Orsola, a degree course in Social Service Sciences is born, focusing on Rights and Inclusion, the great emergencies for practitioners in the third millennium.
“Social Service Science: Rights and Inclusion” will be the main innovation in the educational offer of the new academic year of the Neapolitan University, the oldest free Italian university, which also in 2024 was ranked among the best Italian universities for its strong focus on the professional future of its graduates (source: AlmaLaurea).
The course does not have entrance tests but, in keeping with the tradition of the Suor Orsola educational system, will be taught to a programmed number of a maximum of 200 students. Registration is open until November 4th, and the classes begin on September 30th.
Stefania Ferraro and Ciro Pizzo, presidents of the new course, explain: “In a country with more than 5 million foreign residents, more than a hundred thousand irregular migrants who have landed each year in the last 25 years, and a steadily increasing number of separations and divorces (+22 percent according to the latest Istat data growth in the last year monitored), the figure of the social worker is becoming increasingly important in the Italian welfare system and it is more and more important that they are adequately trained to keep up with the new social needs”.
Social workers, but not only. The new course at Suor Orsola will train new professional profiles of social work in general, characterized by a solid theoretical preparation based on practice, which, also in accordance with the international guidelines of the Global Definition of Social Work, approved by the International Federation of Social Workers and the General Assembly of the International Association of Schools of Social Work, are able to promote social change, social development, social cohesion, as well as the empowerment and emancipation of people.
Among the new figures will be the social reintegration and integration technician, who performs tasks in the prevention of hardship and social and labor insertion, contributing to the elimination of the factors of social marginalization. His function is particularly relevant to the activation of those excluded from the world of work.
Students who attend this course will be able to work in public institutions (local health companies, hospital companies, local authorities and ministries) and private institutions and in the third sector (family homes, rehabilitation centers, social promotion associations, national, supranational and international public organizations, non-governmental organizations involved in international cooperation activities).
