Ciascuno a modo suo festeggia il santo patrono in occasione della settimana in cui si compie il prodigio delle liquefazione. “Operazione San Gennaro” (evidente il richiamo al film di Dino Risi con Totò e Nino Manfredi) s’intitola il progetto del fotoreporter Stefano Renna e da lui curato in collaborazione con l’associazione culturale Kaos 48, che prevede tre “miracoli” dedicati al santo patrono di Napoli con workshop e una mostra di immagini (foto).
Parte domani, 19 settembre e ha lo scopo di far sperimentare ai partecipanti le proprie capacità sul campo guidati da esperti fotografi. Il primo appuntamento (che si svolgerà, come gli altri, presso AreaLab35, in via Giovanni Porzio, 4 al Centro direzionale) da oggi fino al 22 settembre con San Gennaro “Pensaci su”, dedicato al secondo miracolo – quello tanto atteso dai napoletani – con il prodigio dello scioglimento del sangue (il 19) custodito nell’ampolla che viene mostrata ai fedeli tre volte l’anno.
Dal 13 al 17 dicembre sarà la volta di San Gennaro “Aiutaci tu”, che riguarderà invece il terzo miracolo, che cade ogni anno il 16 dicembre (a ricordare quando il sangue del martire si sciolse e la città fu salvata dall’eruzione del Vesuvio del 1631).
Terza e ultima tappa, dal 2 al 6 maggio, con “Il sangue in mostra”, un’esposizione che si riferisce al miracolo della prima domenica di maggio, che quest’anno sarà il 4, con la storica processione delle statue dei santi compatroni.
I workshop (due giorni di teoria e uno di pratica, oltre a due giorni di incontro liberi) sono destinati a fotografi semi professionisti, professionisti o semplici curiosi con una preparazione base nella fase di ripresa.
Al termine una giuria di giornalisti, tecnici e professionisti della fotografia e dell’arte selezionerà i lavori più meritevoli, che verranno poi esposti presso nel culturale e laboratorio AreaLab35 e Kaos 48 per la creazione di una mostra-evento, che sarà oggetto di una manifestazione pubblica a completamento delle attività.
In questi giorni di devozione rafforzata per faccia gialla arriva anche Januaria a cura dell’associazione NarteA, la tradizionale visita teatralizzata che si svolgerà sabato 21 settembre, alle 19.30, al Museo del Tesoro di San Gennaro: le guide Matteo Borriello e Marina Minniti, insieme agli attori Mario Di Fonzo e Valeria Frallicciardi, condurranno i partecipanti in un viaggio tra storia e leggende legate al tesoro.
Apertura straordinaria della Real Cappella del Tesoro, un’opportunità unica per ammirare questa meraviglia artistica. La serata si concluderà con una degustazione di vino rosso campano. Un viaggio di sette secoli, che rivela storie e leggende legate al patrimonio artistico e religioso del museo. Durante il percorso, sarà possibile ammirare opere inestimabili come la celebre mitra gemmata, realizzata dall’orafo Matteo Treglia nel 1713 e ornata con 3694 pietre preziose, e la leggendaria collana in oro e argento di Michele Dato, arricchita nel corso dei secoli dalle donazioni di regnanti europei. Tra i tesori esposti si trovano anche doni di Napoleone, Papa Pio IX, Re Umberto I e Margherita di Savoia.
Il percorso teatrale, arricchito dalle interpretazioni di Mario Di Fonzo e Valeria Frallicciardi, farà rivivere personaggi storici legati alla figura del santo, come Eusebia Januario, custode del sangue nelle ampolle, e Giuseppe Navarra, il “re di Poggioreale” che salvò il tesoro durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale. La figura di Navarra è stata resa celebre anche dal film Operazione San Gennaro che racconta come si riuscì a riportare il tesoro a Napoli dopo averlo recuperato in Vaticano durante il conflitto.

Each of them in its own way celebrates the patron saint during the week of the miracle of liquefaction. Operation San Gennaro” (an obvious reference to Dino Risi’s film starring Totò and Nino Manfredi) is the name of the project curated by photojournalist Stefano Renna in collaboration with the cultural association Kaos 48, which includes three “miracles” dedicated to the patron saint of Naples, with workshops and an exhibition of pictures (ph).
It starts tomorrow, September 19th, and aims to let the participants experience their skills in the field, guided by expert photographers. The first event (which, like the others, will be held at AreaLab35, Via Giovanni Porzio, 4 in the Directional Center), from today until September 22, with St. Gennaro “Think about it”, dedicated to the second miracle – the one so eagerly awaited by Neapolitans – with the miracle of the melting of the blood (on September 19) kept in the ampoule that is shown to the faithful three times a year.
From December 13th to 17th, it will be the turn of St. Gennaro’s “Help Us”, which will instead cover the third miracle, which falls every year on December 16 (commemorating when the martyr’s blood melted and the city was saved from the eruption of Vesuvius in 1631).
The third and final stage, from May 2nd to 6th, with “Blood on display”, an exhibition that refers to the miracle of the first Sunday in May, which this year will be on May 4, with the historic procession of the statues of the co-patron saints.
The workshops (two days of theory and one day of practice, plus two days of free meetings) are aimed at semi-professional, professional or simply curious photographers with a basic background in photography.
At the end, a jury made up of journalists, technicians and professionals in the field of photography and art will select the most deserving works, which will then be exhibited in the cultural and laboratory space AreaLab35 and Kaos 48 for the creation of an exhibition event, which will be the subject of a public event to complete the activities.
In these days of increased devotion to the yellow face also comes Januaria by the association NarteA, the traditional theatrical visit that will take place on Saturday, September 21st at 7:30 pm at the Museum of the Treasure of San Gennaro: guides Matteo Borriello and Marina Minniti, along with actors Mario Di Fonzo and Valeria Frallicciardi, will guide participants in a journey through history and legends related to the treasure.

A journey through seven centuries that reveals stories and legends related to the artistic and religious heritage of the museum. During the tour, visitors will be able to admire priceless works such as the famous precious stone mitre, made by the goldsmith Matteo Treglia in 1713 and decorated with 3,694 precious stones, and the legendary gold and silver necklace by Michele Dato, enriched over the centuries by donations from European rulers. Among the treasures on display are gifts from Napoleon, Pope Pius IX, King Umberto I and Margaret of Savoy.
The theatrical itinerary, enriched by the performances of Mario Di Fonzo and Valeria Frallicciardi, will bring to life historical characters linked to the figure of the Saint, such as Eusebia Januario, keeper of the blood in the vials, and Giuseppe Navarra, the “King of Poggioreale”, who saved the treasure during the Second World War. The figure of Navarra was also made famous by the movie San Gennaro operation, which tells how the treasure was brought back to Naples after being recovered from the Vatican during the conflict.
