Open House Napoli. Torna il festival dell’architettura. Tre giorni di visite guidate gratuite per far scoprire al pubblico l’immenso patrimonio architettonico, artistico e urbanistico della città, raccontato da 400 volontari mossi da impegno e passione.
Oltre 150 appuntamenti in programma tra percorsi urbani spesso non accessibili, siti istituzionali, palazzi storici, studi professionali, case private, cantieri, talk, laboratori kids, mostre dal 18 al 20 ottobre.
Giunta alla sua VI edizione, la rassegna è una delle iniziative più attese dell’anno: 400 volontari – tra architetti, docenti, studenti, artisti, progettisti e semplici appassionati – accompagneranno con entusiasmo i cittadini in un viaggio dentro le architetture denso di luoghi e, soprattutto, di nuove suggestioni che attraverserà tutte le municipalità, dal centro alla periferia.
Come ogni anno, sono numerose le novità che questa edizione presenta al pubblico tra edifici inediti e interi quartieri da esplorare. Luoghi in divenire che guardano anche allo sviluppo del territorio: è il caso dello Spazio Obù della Fondazione Terzoluogo nel Borgo Sant’Antonio. Un progetto virtuoso di rigenerazione urbana e sociale nei 4.000 mq dell’ex Convento di Sant’Anna a Capuana – attualmente cantiere – per la realizzazione di spazi educativi, culturali e di aggregazione per i bambini e le famiglie del quartiere.
Eccellenze scientifiche in mostra nella Palazzina Uffici dell’Istituto di Scienze e Tecnologie per l’Energia e la Mobilità Sostenibile (STEMS) del CNR a Fuorigrotta,nella storica sede dell’Istituto Motori firmata dal decano degli architetti napoletani Massimo Pica Ciamarra.
Si racconteranno anche gli “interni” della città e le residenze private accompagnati – tra spazi storici recuperati, design moderno, arte e tecnologia – dai loro stessi autori: Giuseppe Albanese, Laura Palazzo, Antonio Di Maro, Valentina Solano e Studio Signò, Pasquale Raffa di PRA Architettura e Marco Acri di FADD Architects.
Con il ritorno della Sezione San Tommaso d’Aquino della Pontificia Facoltà Teologica dell’Italia Meridionale ai Colli Aminei, entra in programma anche la sezione San Luigi nella sua rinnovata sede sulla collina di Posillipo.
Tra i luoghi istituzionali e rappresentativi della città, dal razionalismo monumentale, gli arredi d’epoca e le opere d’arte del Palazzo della Provincia – Città Metropolitana di Napoli nel cuore del Rione – che sarà raccontato anche nel percorso Rione Carità, il primo centro direzionale – alla nuova sede dell’ACEN – Associazione Costruttori Edili della Provincia di Napoli nell’antico Palazzo Ruffo della Scaletta a Riviera di Chiaia.
Novità tra i luoghi di culto con la chiesa di Sant’Andrea delle Dame, piccolo e speso inaccessibile gioiello barocco sulla sommità della collinetta di Caponapoli, e il Complesso dei Cinesi, l’istituto di educazione religiosa fondato nel XVII secolo tra Capodimonte e il rione Sanità. Immancabile il tradizionale focus sulla mobilità.
Appuntamento anche con le nuovissime stazioni della Metro Linea 6 Chiaia-Monte Di Dio, San Pasquale e Arco Mirelli in collaborazione con ANM che, in aggiunta agli ormai storici tour, proporrà visite anche all’Ascensore di Monte Echia eall’impianto della Funicolare di Mergellina. Oltre a far toccare con mano i progressi dei cantieri già mostrati nelle scorse edizioni, EAV condurrà all’interno delle future stazioni Capodichino-Di Vittorio e Pozzuoli, in aggiunta al rinnovato snodo di Porta Nolana.
Variegato è il capitolo dei Percorsi, con oltre 20 passeggiate d’autore per rivolgere uno sguardo nuovo alla città passando dal Centro Direzionale ai Casali di Posillipo, dall’architettura Liberty al Vomero al Rione Carità e a Chiaia, o scoprendo scorci inediti con il trekking al Borgo e al Vallone San Rocco.
Open House Napoli è parte di Open House Worldwide, festival globale dell’architettura fondato a Londra nel 1992 e presente oggi in 58 città dei 5 continenti – Roma, Milano e Torino le altre italiane – per stimolare i cittadini alla conoscenza del proprio contesto urbano, delle istanze dei loro territori e al dialogo sul futuro delle città al fianco di istituzioni e architetti.
Altra importante novità è il format Ohn talks, che venerdì 18 ottobre al Real Albergo dei Poveri – anche per quest’anno luogo centrale per la programmazione OHN – inaugura il festival con un’intera giornata di tavole rotonde e confronti sulle diverse forme della città, di momenti culturali e storie di architettura. In programma gli incontri “Rigenerando: progetti per trasformare l’esistente – Confronto su Real Albergo dei Poveri, Fondazione Terzoluogo e Mercato Ittico” e “Costruire la cultura dell’inclusività”.

Open House Napoli/ The architecture festival returns: 3 days of discovering the city among historical buildings, institutional headquarters and construction sites (October 18th -20th)
Open House Napoli. The architecture festival is back. Three days of free guided tours for the public to discover the city’s immense architectural, artistic and urban heritage, told by 400 volunteers moved by commitment and passion.
From October 18th to 20th, more than 150 events will take place in often inaccessible urban itineraries, institutional sites, historical buildings, professional offices, private homes, construction sites, conferences, children’s workshops and exhibitions.
Now in its 6th edition, the event is one of the most eagerly awaited initiatives of the year: 400 volunteers – including architects, teachers, students, artists, designers, and just plain enthusiasts – will enthusiastically guide citizens on a journey through the architecture of places and, above all, new proposals that will cross all municipalities, from the center to the suburbs.
As every year, there are many new features that this edition presents to the public, among brand new buildings and entire neighborhoods to discover. Places in the making that also reflect the evolution of the territory: this is the case of the Spazio Obù of the Terzoluogo Foundation in Borgo Sant’Antonio. A virtuous project of urban and social regeneration in the 4,000 square meters of the former convent of St. Anna in Capuana – currently a construction site – for the creation of educational, cultural and meeting spaces for children and families in the neighborhood.
Scientific excellence on display in the office building of the CNR’s Institute of Science and Technology for Energy and Sustainable Mobility (STEMS) in Fuorigrotta, in the historic headquarters of the Istituto Motori, signed by the dean of Neapolitan architects, Massimo Pica Ciamarra.
The city’s “interiors” and private residences will also be narrated – between recovered historical spaces, modern design, art and technology – by their own authors: Giuseppe Albanese, Laura Palazzo, Antonio Di Maro, Valentina Solano and Studio Signò, Pasquale Raffa of PRA Architettura and Marco Acri of FADD Architects.
With the return of the Section of St. Thomas Aquinas of the Pontifical Theological Faculty of Southern Italy to the Colli Aminei, the Section of St. Louis also joins the program in its renovated location on Posillipo Hill.
Among the institutional and representative places of the city, from the monumental rationalism, the period furnishings and works of art of the Palazzo della Provincia – Metropolitan City of Naples in the heart of the Rione – which will also be narrated in the Rione Carità itinerary, the first business center – to the new headquarters of ACEN – Association of Building Constructors of the Province of Naples in the ancient Palazzo Ruffo della Scaletta on the Riviera di Chiaia.
Novelties among the places of worship are the Church of Sant’Andrea delle Dame, a small and often inaccessible Baroque jewel on the hill of Caponapoli, and the Complesso dei Cinesi, the 17th-century Institute of Religious Education between Capodimonte and the Sanità district. The traditional focus on mobility is inevitable.
In collaboration with ANM, the brand new Line 6 subway stations of Chiaia-Monte Di Dio, San Pasquale and Arco Mirelli will also be open to the public, allowing visitors to experience the Monte Echia elevator and the Mergellina funicular, in addition to the now-historic guided tours. In addition to the progress of the construction sites already shown in previous editions, EAV will take visitors inside the future Capodichino-Di Vittorio and Pozzuoli stations, as well as the renovated Porta Nolana junction.
The section of itineraries is varied, with more than 20 itineraries by authors to discover the city from a different point of view, from the Directional Center to the Casali of Posillipo, from the Liberty architecture of the Vomero to the Rione Carità and Chiaia, or to discover unseen views with the trek to the Borgo and Vallone San Rocco.
Open House Napoli is part of Open House Worldwide, a global festival of architecture founded in London in 1992 and now present in 58 cities on 5 continents – Rome, Milan and Turin being the other Italian cities – to stimulate citizens to know their urban context, the instances of their territories and to dialogue with institutions and architects on the future of cities.
Another important innovation is the Ohn Talks format, which will open the festival on Friday 18 October at the Real Albergo dei Poveri, once again a central venue for OHN programming, with a full day of panel discussions and comparisons on the different forms of the city, cultural moments and architectural histories. Among the sessions scheduled are “Regeneration: projects to transform the existing – Comparison on Real Albergo dei Poveri, Fondazione Terzoluogo and Mercato Ittico” and “Building the culture of inclusiveness”.
