Torna Comicon Napoli, dal primo al 4 maggio alla Mostra d’Oltremare. Con oltre 400 espositori, 600 iniziative in programma e più di 450 ospiti provenienti da tre continenti, e, come sempre, è accompagnato da un programma Off di imperdibili appuntamenti diffusi in città.
Il poster del festival è stato realizzato da Jamie Hewlett, artista britannico noto soprattutto per aver creato insieme a Damon Albarn la virtual band Gorillaz Dopo lo straordinario successo dell’edizione 2024, che ha accolto 175.000 visitatori, il festival punta a nuovi record grazie a un fitto calendario che animerà le numerose aree tematiche del festival: Fumetto, Videogame, Cinema & Serie TV, Gioco, Asian, Musica, Young, LARP (Neverland), Urban, PizzaCon.
Magister della venticinquesima edizione è Tanino Liberatore (foto), maestro dell’illustrazione e del fumetto italiano di cui la manifestazione ripercorre la carriera con la mostra Drawingpower. The art of Liberatore, che ripercorre la carriera dell’artista.
Liberatore ha inoltre selezionato un artista del fumetto che sarà al centro di un’altra esposizione: Massimo Carnevale, tra i più spettacolari ed energici disegnatori realistici italiani. Liberatore sarà al centro di numerosi incontri e iniziative speciali.
Al Comicon Max Pezzali presenterà il suo nuovo comic book, il quarto volume che arricchisce la collezione Max Forever, caratterizzata dalle storie e dai personaggi protagonisti delle sue canzoni, scritto e disegnato dal fumettista e scrittore Roberto Recchioni.
Insieme incontreranno il pubblico giovedì 1 maggio, al teatro Mediterraneo e a seguire al Comicon point per una speciale signing session delle copie white dell’inedito fumetto.
Mentre Altan, leggenda del fumetto italiano, riceverà il Premio speciale alla carriera. Quest’anno il suo personaggio di maggior successo, La Pimpa, cagnolina a pois entrata nei cuori di tutta Italia, compie 50 anni dalla sua prima pubblicazione sul Corriere dei Piccoli. Ne parlerà con Zerocalcare, in un vero e proprio confronto generazionale.
Non mancherà Topolino, il numero 3623 sarà disponibile allo stand Panini Comics, con una copertina variant dedicata a Comicon Napoli e realizzata da Blasco Pisapia con i colori di Mario Perrotta, con uno speciale effetto “sabbioso” sullo sfondo.
E ancora tornano al festival The Jackal con l’anteprima della seconda stagione della serie Pesci Piccoli(2 maggio – Auditorium);in esclusiva anche i primi due episodi de Il Baracchino, nuova serie italiana di animazione con due delle voci protagoniste, Lillo e Frank Matano.
Numerosi anche i talk con grandi ospiti, tra questi: l’incontro Omaggio al visionario David Lynch: cinema, sogno e realtà, con Asia Argento, Igort e Paola Barbato che celebreranno uno dei più grandi maestri del cinema contemporaneo, accompagnati da una perfomance dal vivo di Laura Pérez Granel, illustratrice spagnola già candidata a un Emmy Awards (1 maggio – Auditorium).

Comicon Napoli is back, from the 1st to the 4th of May at the Mostra d’Oltremare. With over 400 exhibitors, 600 planned initiatives and more than 450 guests from three continents, it will be accompanied, as always, by an off-programme of unmissable events spread throughout the city.
The festival poster was designed by Jamie Hewlett, the British artist best known for creating the virtual band Gorillaz with Damon Albarn. After the extraordinary success of the 2024 edition, which welcomed 175,000 visitors, the festival is aiming for new records thanks to a busy calendar of events that will animate the festival’s numerous themed areas: Comics, Videogames, Cinema & TV Series, Gaming, Asian, Music, Young, LARP (Neverland), Urban, PizzaCon.
The magister of the twenty-fifth edition is Tanino Liberatore (photo), the master of Italian illustration and comics, whose career will be traced through the Drawingpower exhibition. The Art of Liberatore, which traces the artist’s career.
Liberatore has also chosen a cartoonist to be the focus of another exhibition: Massimo Carnevale, one of Italy’s most spectacular and energetic realistic cartoonists. Liberatore will be the focus of numerous meetings and special initiatives.
At the Comicon, Max Pezzali will present his new graphic novel, the fourth volume that enriches the Max Forever collection, with the stories and characters of his songs, written and drawn by artist and writer Roberto Recchioni.
Together they will meet the public on Thursday the 1st of May at the Teatro Mediterraneo and then at the Comicon point for a special signing of the white copies of the unpublished comic book.
Meanwhile, Altan, a legend of Italian comics, will receive the special Lifetime Achievement Award. This year his most successful character, La Pimpa, the polka-dotted dog who has conquered the hearts of all Italian people, celebrates 50 years since its first publication in the Corriere dei Piccoli. He will talk about it with Zerocalcare, in a real confrontation between the generations.
Mickey Mouse will not be missing either: issue 3623 will be available at the Panini Comics stand, with a variant cover dedicated to Comicon Napoli, designed by Blasco Pisapia and coloured by Mario Perrotta, with a special “sandy” effect in the background.
Also returning to the Festival is The Jackal, with the premiere of the second season of the series Pesci Piccoli (2 May – Auditorium); the first two episodes of Il Baracchino, a new Italian animated series starring two of the country’s leading voices, Lillo and Frank Matano, will also be screened exclusively.
In addition, there will also be a number of conversations with great guests, including: Homage to the visionary David Lynch: cinema, dream and reality, with Asia Argento, Igort and Paola Barbato, celebrating one of the greatest masters of contemporary cinema, accompanied by a live performance by Laura Pérez Granel, a Spanish illustrator nominated for an Emmy Award (1 May – Auditorium).
