Musica, cinema e teatro sotto le stelle in uno degli scenari più suggestivi al mondo: l’Anfiteatro Campano di Santa Maria Capua Vetere, il secondo anfiteatro romano al mondo per dimensioni dopo il Colosseo. Dal 25 al 31 luglio ritorna con una settimana di eventi l’Arena Spartacus Festival che quest’anno festeggia la sua decima edizione (programma completo su www.arenaspartacus.it).
Nato come Festival della Letteratura nel 2015, oggi è un variegato Festival delle Arti dello Spettacolo, declinato su “Mito, suoni e visioni” con la direzione artistica di Roberto Conte nella sezione cinema, Donato Cutolo nella sezione musica e Maurizio Zarzaca nella sezione teatro che quest’anno martedì 30 luglio ospiterà il monologo di Stefania Iaderosa, protagonista di una appassionante riscrittura ed interpretazione di Nanà.
Il battesimo della decima edizione del Festival domani, giovedì 25 luglio alle 21.30 con il Buscadero Day che approda per la prima volta nel Sud Italia capitanato da Scarlett Rivera, storica violinista di Bob Dylan, e Violante Placido, nel triplice ruolo di cantante, storyteller e attrice.
Sabato 27 e mercoledì 31 luglio gli altri due appuntamenti musicali con il soul funky del Nigri Trio (Paola Nigriello voce e basso, Fabio Tommasone al piano e Pio De Rosa alla batteria) e un’inedita versione in jazz dei grandi successi della musica napoletana ideata da Lello Petracca.
Venerdì 26 luglio con “Pink Floyd – The Wall”, lo storico film di Alan Parker su una delle band più rivoluzionarie della storia della musica, si apre la sezione cinema quest’anno d’essai e dedicata al rapporto tra cinema e memoria che sarà declinato in due serate speciali.
Domenica 28 luglio alle 21 la prima serata cinematografica speciale sarà dedicata al tema “La lezione di Giancarlo è ancora viva”. Nell’anno della scomparsa dei giornalisti-sceneggiatori Andrea Purgatori e Maurizio Cerino ci sarà una serata speciale, organizzata in collaborazione con il Dipartimento di Giurisprudenza dell’Università degli Studi della Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”, la Fondazione Giancarlo Siani, l’Ordine dei Giornalisti della Campania e il Sindacato Unitario dei Giornalisti della Campania, dedicata al giornalismo d’inchiesta sul grande schermo con la proiezione del film di Marco Risi “Fortapàsc”.
Lunedì 29 luglio alle 21 serata cinematografica dedicata al tema “Il cuore di Massimo è ancora vivo”. A trent’anni dalla scomparsa di Massimo Troisi una serata speciale dedicata al suo ultimo film con la presentazione del volume di Irene Cocco “Il Postino. La metafora di un’emozione” (con prestigiosi contributi di attori, registi e critici cinematografici, da Carlo Verdone a Gianfelice Imparato) e la proiezione del film “Il Postino”.
Anche quest’anno Arena Spartacus Festival, che non ha mai beneficiato di alcun sostegno finanziario pubblico, è ideato da “Amico Bio Arena Spartacus”, il primo ristorante biologico al mondo in un sito archeologico fondato da Enrico Amico e Bruno Zarzaca nel 2013, ed è organizzato e prodotto da Radio Zar Zak. Le serate cinematografiche saranno tutte ad ingresso libero e come sempre sono volutamente ‘popolari’ i prezzi per tutti gli altri spettacoli dell’Arena Spartacus Festival (15 euro per i concerti e per lo spettacolo teatrale). In ogni serata del Festival arrivando entro le 18.30 sarà possibile visitare l’Anfiteatro Campano e il Museo dei Gladiatori e sarà sempre aperto prima, durante e dopo gli spettacoli “Amico Bio Arena Spartacus” che nel 2013 ha inaugurato all’Anfiteatro Campano di Santa Maria Capua Vetere la sua attività di primo ristorante al mondo in un sito archeologico, dopo un bando del Ministero della Cultura che per la prima volta aveva considerato anche la ristorazione di qualità come indispensabile servizio museale aggiuntivo. Per l’occasione “Amico Bio Arena Spartacus” accanto al tradizionale menù caratterizzato dai piatti di produzione interamente biologica e biodinamica e pizzeria offrirà anche un servizio di cocktail bar.

Campanian Amphitheater/Arena Spartacus Festival is celebrating its first 10 years of cinema under the stars. In memory of Giancarlo Siani and Massimo Troisi
Music, cinema and theater under the stars in one of the most evocative settings in the world: the Anfiteatro Campano in Santa Maria Capua Vetere, the second largest Roman amphitheater in the planet after the Colosseum. From July 25 to 31, the Arena Spartacus Festival returns with a week of events, celebrating its 10th edition this year (full program at www.arenaspartacus.it).
Born as a literary festival in 2015, today it is a multifaceted performing arts festival, with the theme “Myths, Sounds and Visions”, under the artistic direction of Roberto Conte in the film section, Donato Cutolo in the music section and Maurizio Zarzaca in the theater section, which this year, on Tuesday, July 30, will host the monologue of Stefania Iaderosa, starring in a passionate rewriting and interpretation of Nanà.
The tenth edition of the Festival will be inaugurated tomorrow, Thursday, July 25, at 9:30 p.m. with Buscadero Day, which lands in southern Italy for the first time, led by Scarlett Rivera, Bob Dylan’s historic violinist, and Violante Placido in the triple role of singer, storyteller and actress.
On Saturday, July 27, and Wednesday, July 31, the other two musical events will feature the funky soul of the Nigri Trio (Paola Nigriello on vocals and bass, Fabio Tommasone on piano and Pio De Rosa on drums) and an unprecedented jazz version of the great hits of Neapolitan music, conceived by Lello Petracca.
On Friday, July 26th, “Pink Floyd – The Wall”, Alan Parker’s historic film about one of the most revolutionary bands in music history, will open this year’s Arthouse Cinema section, which is dedicated to the relationship between cinema and memory, and will be followed by two special evenings.
On Sunday, July 28th at 9 p.m., the first special evening will be dedicated to the theme “Giancarlo’s lesson is still alive”. In the year of the disappearance of the journalists and writers Andrea Purgatori and Maurizio Cerino, in collaboration with the Faculty of Law of the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”, the Giancarlo Siani Foundation, the Ordine dei Giornalisti della Campania and the Sindacato Unitario dei Giornalisti della Campania, a special evening will be dedicated to investigative journalism on the big screen with the screening of Marco Risi’s film “Fortapàsc”.
Monday, July 29th at 9 p.m. Movie night dedicated to the theme “Massimo’s heart is still alive”. Thirty years after the death of Massimo Troisi, a special evening dedicated to his last film with the presentation of Irene Cocco’s book “Il postino. The metaphor of an emotion” (with prestigious contributions from actors, directors and film critics, from Carlo Verdone to Gianfelice Imparato) and a screening of the film “Il Postino”.
The Arena Spartacus Festival, which has never benefited from any kind of public funding, has been conceived by “Amico Bio Arena Spartacus”, the world’s first organic restaurant in an archaeological site, founded in 2013 by Enrico Amico and Bruno Zarzaca, and is organized and produced by Radio Zar Zak. The film evenings are all free of charge, and as always, the prices for all the other shows in the Arena Spartacus Festival are deliberately “popular” (15 euros for concerts and the theater show). On every evening of the festival, those who arrive before 18.30 can visit the Campanian Amphitheatre and the Gladiator Museum, where “Amico Bio Arena Spartacus”, the world’s first restaurant in an archaeological site, opened in 2013 at the Campanian Amphitheatre in Santa Maria Capua Vetere, will be open before, during and after the performances, following a call for tenders by the Ministry of Culture that for the first time considered quality catering as an indispensable museum service. For this occasion, “Amico Bio Arena Spartacus” will offer a cocktail bar service, in addition to the traditional menu, characterized by dishes of completely organic and biodynamic production, and a pizzeria.
