Orme contadine. Storia di resilienza castelvenerese. Questo il titolo del nuovo libro di Pasquale Carlo che sarà presentato sabato 13 gennaio (alle 18) nella cornice all’enoteca comunale di Castelvenere.
Con l’autore parteciperanno all’incontro: Alessandro Di Santo (sindaco di Castelvenere), Errico Formichella (CEO & Founder di Sef Consulting, società di consulenza direzionale), Emilio Bove (presidente Istituto Storico Sannio Telesino), Michelangelo Fetto (attore e registra teatrale), Paolo Speranza (critico letterario e cinematografico) e Antonio Conte (docente, già Senatore della Repubblica). A moderare l’incontro sarà il giornalista Gianrocco Rossetti.
Il libro propone 20 storie di questa comunità del Beneventano. Protagonista è la gente comune che ne ha animato il Novecento, quella Castelvenere contadina rimasta immune alle conseguenze della spaccatura epocale prodotta, in Italia, dal boom economico degli anni ’50 e ’60.
«Raccontare della storia, dei personaggi, delle produzioni agricole, dell’acqua e delle colline di Castelvenere – scrive nell’introduzione di Michelangelo Fetto – è per il nostro autore un modo per raccontare l’umanità, i suoi vizi e le virtù, profittando di una torre di avvistamento privilegiata, una sorta di stetoscopio utile ad auscultare i battiti dei mutamenti sociali, culturali, politici di questa e di tante altre realtà simili e differenti solo per posizione geografica ed inflessione linguistica. Tutto questo gli consente, in definitiva, di raccontare il mondo attraverso il racconto della propria comunità».

Peasant footsteps. The story of Castelvenere’s resilience. That’s the title of the new book by Pasquale Carlo that will be presented on Saturday, January 13th (at 6 p.m.) in the setting of the Municipal Wine Shop of Castelvenere.
The author will be joined by Alessandro Di Santo (Mayor of Castelvenere), Errico Formichella (CEO and founder of Sef Consulting, a management consulting firm), Emilio Bove (President of the Istituto Storico Sannio Telesino), Michelangelo Fetto (actor and stage director), Paolo Speranza (literary and film critic) and Antonio Conte (lecturer, former Senator of the Republic). The meeting will be moderated by the journalist Gianrocco Rossetti.
The book proposes 20 stories of this Beneventan community. The protagonists are the common people who have animated their twentieth century, that peasant Castelvenere that remained untouched by the consequences of the epochal division produced, in Italy, by the economic boom of the fifties and sixties.
“The narration of the history, the characters, the agricultural products, the water and the hills of Castelvenere,” writes Michelangelo Fetto in his introduction, “is for our author a way of telling the story of humanity, its vices and virtues, using a privileged watchtower, a kind of stethoscope, useful for auscultating the beats of the social, cultural, political changes of this and many other realities, similar and different only in geographical location and linguistic inflection. All this allows him, in the end, to tell the world through the narrative of his own community”.
