Espressione della cultura americana per eccellenza, il western torna alla ribalta sulla scena cinematografica con talenti come Quentin Tarantino e i fratelli Coen che contribuiscono alla rinascita di un genere fortemente intrecciato all’arte cinematografica in tutti i suoi aspetti.
A questo genere, Ferruccio Diozzi dedica il libro Il cinema western. Ricordi, racconti, riflessioni pubblicato da Dante & Descartes.
Napoletano, Diozzi ha lavorato alla Biblioteca Universitaria di Napoli (Bun) ed è stato anche i responsabile del Centro Documentazione del Cira, Centro italiano ricerche aerospaziali.
Il suo volume, che sarà presentato alla Bun martedì 5 dicembre alle 16 volume di Ferruccio Diozzi, parte da alcune tematiche chiave della narrativa di frontiera (il paesaggio, i nativi americani, l’avanzamento della civiltà…) e presenta film, a volte famosissimi, a volte poco sconosciuti, ma tutti interessanti per il contributo portato all’arte cinematografica e alla comprensione dello sviluppo degli Stati Uniti d’America.
Dopo i saluti della direttrice Silvia Iovane, interverranno Adolfo Fattori, Accademia di Belle arti di Napoli e il giornalista di Repubblica Antonio Tricomi.

Biblioteca universitaria di Napoli/ Western cinema through the eyes of Ferruccio Diozzi. Between memories and reflections
An expression of American culture par excellence, the Western is making a comeback on the film scene, with talents such as Quentin Tarantino and the Coen brothers contributing to the revival of a genre closely linked to the art of cinema in all its aspects.
It is to this genre that Ferruccio Diozzi dedicates his book The Western Cinema. Memories, Stories, Reflections, published by Dante & Descartes.
Diozzi is a Neapolitan who worked at the University Library of Naples (Bun). He was also the director of the Documentation Center of Cira, the Italian Aerospace Research Center.
His volume, which will be presented at the Bun on Tuesday, December 5th, at 4 p.m., starts from some key themes of the frontier fiction (the landscape, the Indians, the progress of civilization…) and presents films, some very famous, others less known, but all interesting for the contribution they have made to the art of filmmaking and to the understanding of the development of the United States of America.
After the greetings of the director Silvia Iovane, Adolfo Fattori of the Naples Academy of Fine Arts and the journalist Antonio Tricomi of the Repubblica will speak.
