Giffoni e Federico II insieme per un film sugli 800 anni dell’ Ateneo. Lo annuncia alla 53esima edizione del Film Festival il rettore dell’università, Matteo Lorito: «Questo corto è un omaggio a una storia straordinaria, che ha intrecciato quella dell’Italia, e l’ha contraddistinta prima ancora che l’Italia diventasse tale. Quando è iniziata la storia della Federico II, 800 anni fa, l’epoca dell’Italia unita era ancora lontana. Noi abbiamo bisogno di raccontarla questa storia, in ogni modo possibile, anche attraverso questo corto che, con intelligenza e ironia, ci aiuterà a mostrare al mondo quanto è bella la storia dell’università italiana e dell’università napoletana».
Per gli 800 anni dell’Università Federico II di Napoli, che cadono nel 2024, verrà realizzato un lavoro cinematografico con la regia di Ettore De Lorenzo (foto) che racconterà la storia dell’ateneo.
La novità si chiama “Buon compleanno Federico” ed è uno short movie, con la regia di Ettore De Lorenzo, che sarà realizzato da Giffoni Innovation Hub insieme alla Federico II. Un racconto sul coraggio di un imperatore, che, nel 1224, arrivò a sfidare il potere della Chiesa per rimarcare come la conoscenza e il sapere non debbano essere monopolio del potere spirituale.
«Credo che il connubio tra Giffoni e questa celebrazione degli 800 anni sia perfetto – conclude Lorito – perché Giffoni è un’eccellenza, un posto straordinario dove si sente il senso della creatività, della bellezza, dei giovani che vanno avanti, che fanno cose straordinarie e ci fanno avere una bella speranza per il futuro. Noi celebriamo i primi 800 anni della Federico II e guardiamo ai prossimi 800 anni: il futuro è di questi ragazzi, e magari tra di loro c’è il quarto Presidente della Repubblica, visto che nel nostro ateneo si sono laureati ben tre Presidenti della Repubblica. Anche questo è un nostro primato».

Giffoni and Federico II together for a film on the 800th anniversary of the Neapolitan University. It was announced at the 53rd edition by the university’s rector, Matteo Lorito: “This short film is a tribute to an extraordinary history, which intertwined that of Italy, and marked it even before Italy became one. When the story of Frederick II began, 800 years ago, the era of united Italy was still far away. We need to tell this story, in every possible way, including through this short film that, with intelligence and irony, will help us show the world how beautiful the history of the Italian university and the Neapolitan university is.”
For the 800th anniversary of the Federico II University of Naples, which falls in 2024, a film work will be made, directed by Ettore De Lorenzo (photo), telling the story of the university.
The novelty is called “Happy Birthday Federico” and is a short movie, directed by Ettore De Lorenzo, that will be made by Giffoni Innovation Hub together with the Federico II. A tale about the courage of an emperor, who, in 1224, went so far as to challenge the power of the Church in order to emphasize how knowledge and learning should not be a monopoly of spiritual power.
“I think the combination of Giffoni and this 800th anniversary celebration is perfect,” Lorito concludes, “because Giffoni is an excellence, an extraordinary place where you can feel the sense of creativity, of beauty, of young people moving forward, doing extraordinary things and making us have a beautiful hope for the future. We are celebrating the first 800 years of the Federico II and looking ahead to the next 800 years: the future belongs to these young people, and maybe among them is the fourth President of the Republic, since as many as three Presidents of the Republic have graduated from our university. This is also our record.”
