La Chiesa di Santa Luciella ai librai è un piccolo grande gioiello barocco. Abbandonata per più di 30 anni, è riemersa dalla polvere grazie all’Associazione Respiriamo Arte che l’ha valorizzata anche dal punto di vista turistico.
Si trova si trova nell’omonimo vicolo che collega San Biagio dei librai a San Gregorio Armeno ed è conosciuta come la chiesa del teschio con le orecchie che è custodito a parte più misteriosa della chiesa si trova nell’antico ipogeo tra acquasantiere e scolatoi, simbolo dell’antichissima e leggendaria tradizione napoletana delle Anime pezzentelle (ovvero i sepolti abbandonati e senza nome) adottate dai vivi.
Respiriamo Arte A.p.s. in collaborazione con Feir Teatro, oggi sabato 25 marzo qui proporrà tre visite guidate teatralizzate. Dante, Incontri di anime, un’iniziativa suggestiva, della durata di 40 minuti (18.00/19.00/20.00): il racconto del luogo si intreccerà e accompagnerà i versi unici della Divina Commedia.
La luce è un motivo-guida della Commedia dantesca; l’assenza di luce sottolinea la lontananza da Dio e lo smarrimento nel mondo del peccato e di conseguenza la punizione nell’Inferno; un debole chiarore e un aumento impercettibile di luminosità, al contrario, annunciano l’inizio del difficile cammino di redenzione.
I lumi del Paradiso, lo splendore delle anime, l’illuminarsi del volto di Beatrice ci avvertono della presenza di Dio, sempre più vicina, quella presenza cercata e agognata per tutto il viaggio oltremondano. In una “mirabile visione” di tal genere non poteva mancare la santa della vista, degli occhi, della luce, appunto.
Anzi, all’interno di questo complesso sistema Dante conferisce alla santa, protettrice dei poeti e degli artisti, ruoli differenti ma tutti di fondamentale importanza spirituale.
Santa Lucia, martire siracusana, fu “in somma venerazione” da parte di Dante e rappresenta la speranza.
Gli attori si alterneranno alle guide nel percorso che porterà gli spettatori in questo viaggio fra le terzine dantesche attraverso i luoghi di Santa Luciella ai Librai: dall’ipogeo, sede del teschio con le orecchie, fino alla chiara e splendente chiesa, seguendo la risalita mistica e materiale della Commedia.

The Church of Santa Luciella ai librai is a great little Baroque jewel. Abandoned for more than 30 years, it has reemerged from the dirt thanks to the Respiriamo Arte Association, which has also valorized it from a tourist point of view.
It is located in the alley of the same name that connects San Biagio dei librai to San Gregorio Armeno and is known as the church of the skull with ears, which is kept in the most mysterious part of the church, the ancient hypogeum, among holy water fonts and drains, a symbol of the very ancient and legendary Neapolitan tradition of the Anime pezzentelle (the abandoned and nameless buried) adopted by the living.
Respiriamo Arte A.p.s. in collaboration with Feir Teatro, will offer three theatricalized guided tours here today Saturday, March 25. An evocative initiative, lasting 40 minutes (6 p.m. / 7 p.m. / 8 p.m.): the story of the place will intertwine with and accompany the unique verses of the Divine Comedy.
Light is a guiding motif of Dante’s Comedy; the absence of light emphasizes distance from God and bewilderment in the world of sin and consequently punishment in Hell; a faint glow and an imperceptible increase in brightness, on the other hand, announce the beginning of the difficult journey of redemption. The lights of Paradise, the splendor of souls, the illumination of Beatrice’s face warn us of God’s presence, ever closer, that presence sought and yearned for throughout the otherworldly journey. In such a “wondrous vision” the saint of sight, of eyes, of light, could not be absent.
Indeed, within this complex system, Dante gives the saint, patroness of poets and artists, different roles but all of fundamental spiritual importance.
St. Lucy, a martyr from Syracuse, was “in supreme veneration” by Dante and represents hope.
Actors will alternate with guides as they take the audience on this journey through Dante’s tercets through the sites of Santa Luciella ai Librai: from the hypogeum, home of the skull with ears, to the clear and shining church, following the mystical and material ascent of the Comedy.
