Arriva in Campania il primo film italiano che porta sul grande schermo le storie di accoglienza in Italia dei bambini delle zone contaminate dopo il disastro di Chernobyl.
“Le cicogne di Chernobyl” del regista Karim Galici (nato a Cagliari nel 1977) verrà proiettato a Napoli domani, venerdì 10 maggio alle 17 in via Via Nardones 17, a cura dell’associazione Maksim Gor’ki. Introduce e modera Antonio Marino, regista e sceneggiatore. A Sorrento l’11 nella sala Dickens Hotel Continental, Piazza della Vittoria, 4.
L’appuntamento (a ingresso libero come quello napoletano) è curato dall’Istituto di cultura Torquato Tasso, presieduto da Luciano Russo. Introduce e modera Salvatore Iorio.
Protagonisti del film un ex abitante evacuato dalla zona dei dintorni di Chernobyl, tornato a visitare la sua casa abbandonata dopo quasi 40 anni, uno dei vigili del fuoco intervenuti per spegnere gli incendi intorno alla centrale in quel lontano 26 aprile 1986, e un emozionante mosaico di storie di ragazzi e ragazze ospitati da bambini dalle famiglie italiane, che evidenzia come l’accoglienza dei progetti Chernobyl non ha prodotto solo benefici diretti sulla salute, ma anche evoluzioni sociali e culturali.
Il legame affettivo che scaturisce da questo tipo di esperienze non investe solo gli individui coinvolti direttamente, ma l’intera comunità in nome di valori positivi e costruttivi, l’accoglienza quindi come relazione di aiuto, flessibile e paritaria.
Dai primi anni 90 e sino al 2020 l’Italia ha accolto circa 600.000 bambini bielorussi e oltre 100.000 bambini ucraini, nell’ambito dei cosiddetti “Progetti Chernobyl”, oltre il 60% di tutti i bambini ospitati all’estero. Il nostro paese da solo ha fatto più di tutti gli altri paesi del mondo messi insieme.

Cinema/ The film “The storks of Chernobyl” arrives in Campania: director Karim Galici tells how Italy took in children from contaminated areas
The first Italian movie to bring to the screen the stories of the children who came to Italy from contaminated areas after the Chernobyl disaster is coming to Campania.
“The storks of Chernobyl” by director Karim Galici (born in 1977 in Cagliari, Italy) will be screened tomorrow, Friday, May 10th, at 5 p.m. in Naples at 17 Via Nardones, by the Maksim Gor’ki Association. The director and screenwriter Antonio Marino will introduce and moderate the event. In Sorrento on the 11th at the Dickens Hotel Continental, Piazza della Vittoria, 4.
The event (with free admission, as in Naples) is curated by the Torquato Tasso Cultural Institute, chaired by Luciano Russo. It will be introduced and moderated by Salvatore Iorio.
The film’s protagonists are a former Chernobyl evacuee who has returned to visit his abandoned home after almost 40 years, one of the firefighters who intervened to extinguish the fires around the plant on that distant April 26th, 1986, and an emotional mosaic of stories of boys and girls who were taken in as children by Italian families, highlighting how hosting Chernobyl projects has brought not only direct health benefits, but also social and cultural developments.
The emotional bond that results from this type of experience invests not only the individuals directly involved, but also the entire community in the name of positive and constructive values, making hosting a helping, flexible and equal relationship.
Since the beginning of the 1990s and until 2020, Italy has hosted about 600,000 Belarusian children and more than 100,000 Ukrainian children within the context of the so-called “Chernobyl projects”, more than 60 percent of all children hosted abroad. Our country alone has done more than all other countries in the world put together.
