Sarà un settembre di libri al borgo medievale di Casertavecchia. In due fine settimana (31agosto – 3 settembre, 8 – 10 settembre, ospiti della rassegna il procuratore di Catanzaro Nicola Gratteri; la scrittrice Edith Bruck sopravvissuta alla Shoa e amica di Papa Francesco; lo scrittore Giuseppe Montesano che risponde alle domande di Marcel Proust.
Sono solo alcuni dei protagonisti che parteciperanno ai 24 appuntamenti del festival letterario e di cultura promosso dal Comune di Caserta, giunto alla sesta edizione, realizzato attraverso gli assessorati alla cultura e ai grandi Eventi – dopo il successo dei «Concerti di una notte di mezza estate» lo scorso 14 agosto.
«Ogni epoca storica ha avuto forme di potere che sono apparse assolute e impossibili da abbattere. Imperi, teocrazie, regni, tirannie, monarchie, autoritarismi, dittature. Ciascuna con i propri capi e con élite che dall’alto hanno imposto il potere: faraoni, imperatori, re, aristocrazie – spiega Luigi Ferraiuolo, direttore di “Un borgo di libri” – Ma c’è un’altra costante, di segno inverso, che accompagna queste epoche, ed è rappresentata da chi, in un certo momento, spezza una catena, assalta una prigione, uccide un monarca, cambia i valori in gioco. È il rivoluzionario, colui che sente dentro di sé il nuovo spirito dei tempi e intuisce qual è il momento per rovesciare il potere presente. Scegliendo per la rassegna il tema «Rivoluzioni: i rivoluzionari sono ladri di lune» si prova a raccontare le cicatrici ma anche le guarigioni che i rivoluzionari donano al mondo. I rivoluzionari sono ladri di lune, ne rubano uno spicchio e ce lo donano: trasformano i nostri sogni in realtà».
Il logo della manifestazione è disegnato da Simone Vignoni:l’autore ha fatto rivivere una moderna Siffridina ( figlia del conte Gentile il cui fantasma sembra aggirarsi nel borgo) che ruba spicchi di luna per donarli ai sognatori.
«Un borgo di libri» ha da quest’anno anche l’auto del festival: una nuovissima «Honda ZR-V», full hybrid, perché, come recita il motto della kermesse, «Un borgo di libri è al passo con l’ambiente», fornita dalla concessionaria D.Car Motors di Casapulla.
Festival/ A Village of books: Casertavecchia welcomes revolutionaries, thieves of moons. Who offer dreams
It will be a September of books at the medieval village of Casertavecchia. Over two weekends (Aug. 31 to Sept. 3 and Sept. 8 to 10) between Catanzaro prosecutor Nicola Gratteri, writer Edith Bruck who survived the Shoa and is a friend of Pope Francis, and writer Giuseppe Montesano answering questions from Marcel Proust.
These are some of the guests of the 24 events of the literary and cultural festival promoted by the Municipality of Caserta at the same time now in its sixth edition, and carried out through the departments of Culture and Major Events – after the success of the “Midsummer Night Concerts” last August the 14th.
“Every historical period has had forms of power that appeared absolute and impossible to overthrow. Empires, theocracies, kingdoms, tyrannies, monarchies, authoritarianisms, dictatorships. Each one with its own leaders and elites who imposed power from above: pharaohs, emperors, kings, aristocracies – explains Luigi Ferraiuolo, director of “A Village of Books” – But there is another constant, of the opposite sign, that accompanies these epochs, and it is represented by the one who, at a certain moment, breaks a chain, assaults a prison, kills a monarch, changes the values at stake. He is the revolutionary, the one who feels within himself the new spirit of the times and senses what is the moment to overthrow the present power. By choosing the theme “Revolutions: revolutionaries are moon thieves” for the festival, we try to tell the story of the scars but also the healings that revolutionaries give to the world. Revolutionaries are thieves of moons, they steal a slice and give it to us: they turn our dreams into reality.”
The logo of the festival is designed by Simone Vignoni: the author has revived a modern Siffridina ( daughter of Count Gentile whose ghost seems to roam in the village) who steals slices of the moon to give them to dreamers.
“A village of books” also has from this year the festival car: a brand new “Honda ZR-V,” full hybrid, because, as the motto of the kermesse states, “A Village of Books is in step with the environment,” provided by the D.Car Motors dealership in Casapulla.
