Una navetta elettrica (GaiolEtta) per raggiungere il Parco sommerso di Posillipo. Da ieri, un servizio gratuito sperimentale attivo nei fine settimana di agosto. Un’iniziativa dell’Ente gestore CSI Gaiola onlus, per rendere più agevole e confortevole recarsi nella piccola area marina protetta partenopea durante la stagione estiva.
Sembra davvero un lontano ricordo la Gaiola di qualche anno fa, abbandonata al degrado ed all’incuria, presa d’assalto durante la stagione estiva e lasciata nell’oblio il resto dell’anno.
Oggi, continua il processo di rinascita territoriale che ha trasformato questo luogo dimenticato in un piccolo gioiello della città di Napoli e modello virtuoso di gestione e fruizione sostenibile di un’area marina protetta.
Anche grazie all’accordo firmato tra Ente gestore, Comune di Napoli e Autorità portuale per la fruizione sostenibile dell’area, sempre più cittadini e turisti negli ultimi anni stanno riscoprendo infatti le meraviglie del Parco sommerso di Gaiola dove a pochi metri di profondità si possono ammirare le antiche vestigia della villa d’otium del Pausilypon avvolte da un’esplosione di forme e colori di una vita marina, che finalmente qui ha trovato un luogo dove poter rigenerarsi e ripopolare i nostri mari. In tal senso di recente è partito il Progetto Posidonia oceanica, per riportare nelle acque del parco e della Città di Napoli uno degli habitat più importanti del Mediterraneo.
Non solo cura e tutela del patrimonio naturalistico e culturale ma anche un impegno continuo portato avanti in questi anni nel migliorare le condizioni di vivibilità e cura del luogo per bagnanti e visitatori.
È di poche settimane fa il lancio degli ombrelloni sociali marini, 10 ombrelloni firmati dai disegni marini dell’artista Serena Strino, che ogni giorno vengono dati gratuitamente ai bagnanti del Parco, sempre con un occhio di riguardo per anziani e famiglie con bambini. Anche in questo caso grande successo: oggi i bagnanti vengono a ritirare e riporre diligentemente il loro ombrellone, imparando a conoscere ogni giorno una specie marina che popola i fondali del Parco.
E adesso, ecco la navetta, di dimensioni piccole, per poter muoversi agevolmente sulla tortuosa Discesa Gaiola, con sedute comode per una portata complessiva di 8 persone e, ovviamente, supergreen con trazione esclusivamente elettrica.
Rispondendo ai suggerimenti dei fruitori, il Parco si è dotato di questo ulteriore servizio agli utenti, aderendo al progetto Clima del Ministero dell’Ambiente, messo in campo per incentivare la riconversione energetica partendo dai Parchi e dalle aree protette.
Un piccolo servizio sociale in più per venire incontro a chi può avere più difficoltà, soprattutto d’estate, a percorrere a piedi la strada che conduce al Parco. La navetta sarà infatti innanzitutto a persone anziane e famiglie con bimbi piccoli e partirà dallo stazionamento bus di capo Posillipo, per venire incontro a chi sceglie di recarsi al Parco utilizzando i mezzi pubblici cittadini.
La navetta, completamente gratuita, a cura dell’Ente gestore, entrerà in funzione tutti i weekend di Agosto, con 4 fasce orarie in concomitanza con apertura e chiusura del Parco edil cambio turno tra mattina e pomeriggio:
8:30 – 10:30; 12:30 – 14:30; 17:00 – 18:30.
Gaiola / Here comes the electric bus for families and senior citizens
An electric shuttle (GaiolEtta) to reach the underwater park of Posillipo. Starting yesterday, an experimental free service that will operate on weekends in August. An initiative of the CSI Gaiola onlus to make it easier and more comfortable to reach the small Neapolitan marine reserve during the summer season.
It really seems like a distant memory, the Gaiola of a few years ago, abandoned to degradation and neglect, taken by storm during the summer season and left in oblivion for the rest of the year.
Today, the process of territorial rebirth continues, transforming this forgotten place into a small jewel of the city of Naples and a virtuous model of sustainable management and enjoyment of a marine protected area.
Thanks in part to the agreement on the sustainable use of the area signed between the management body, the City of Naples and the Port Authority, in recent years more and more citizens and tourists have rediscovered the wonders of the Gaiola Underwater Park, where a few meters below the surface you can admire the ancient remains of Pausilypon’s villa d’otium, surrounded by an explosion of shapes and colors of marine life that has finally found a place to regenerate and repopulate our seas. In this sense, the Posidonia oceanica project was recently launched to bring back to the waters of the Park and the city of Naples one of the most important habitats of the Mediterranean.
Not only the care and protection of the natural and cultural heritage, but also a continuous commitment carried out in recent years to improve the conditions of living and care of the place for bathers and visitors.
Just a few weeks ago they launched the Marine Social Umbrellas, 10 umbrellas signed with marine drawings by the artist Serena Strino, which are distributed free of charge every day to the Park’s visitors, always with an eye to the elderly and families with children. Once again, a great success: today the bathers come to pick up their umbrellas and eagerly put them away, learning about a marine species that populates the Park’s seabed every day.
And now, here is the shuttle, small in size to be able to move easily on the winding Gaiola descent, with comfortable seats for a total capacity of 8 people and, of course, supergreen with exclusively electric traction.
Responding to the suggestions of users, the Park has equipped itself with this additional service for users, joining the Climate Project of the Ministry of the Environment, set up to promote energy conversion, starting from parks and protected areas.
It is a small additional social service to meet the needs of those who may find it more difficult, especially in summer, to walk the road to the Park. In fact, the shuttle will be primarily aimed at elderly people and families with small children and will depart from the bus station of Capo Posillipo to meet those who choose to travel to the Park by public transport.
The shuttle, which is completely free of charge, will operate every weekend in August with 4 time slots to coincide with the opening and closing of the park and the shift change between morning and afternoon:
8:30 – 10:30; 12:30 – 14:30; 17:00 – 18:30.
