Sarà Mario Spada il protagonista del nuovo appuntamento alla rassegna ” Il Sabato della Fotografia”. Domani 28 gennaio alle ore 11,30 (ingresso gratuito) nella Sala Assoli di Napoli parlerà della sua attività con il curatore della rassegna Pino Miraglia e con il pubblico presente in sala.
Mario Spada è uno dei talenti campani più apprezzati nel settore della fotografia: comincia la propria attività, dal 1986, documentando storie ai margini della società e della legalità.
Sono storie che probabilmente nessuno vorrebbe vedere, o comunque approfondire, necessarie per comprendere realtà sociali del sottobosco urbano e periferico dell’hinterland napoletano.
Spada le rivela senza mezze misure e senza delicatezza alcuna.
I suoi reportage sono reali, vivi e immediati e, allo stesso tempo, densi di umanità.Invitano a riflettere e illuminare le ombre di un sistema globale autoreferenziale e per nulla salvifico. Negli anni 2000, Spada si tuffa nella fotografia di denuncia sociale e collabora con i più affermati quotidiani e agenzie fotogiornalistiche nazionali.
Nella sua carriera caratterizzata dall’impegno civile ha vinto nel 2001 al Festival della Fotografia di Savignano “Portfolio in piazza”, con un reportage sull’addestramento dei pitbull da combattimento a Napoli e nello stesso anno il premio “Canon giovani fotografi” – Miglior Portfolio, con un reportage sui “Mastiffs”: uno dei gruppi ultras del Napoli. Nel 2007 ha partecipato alle riprese del film “Gomorra” come fotografo di scena e consulente per Scampia. Ha lavorato come fotografo di scena nei film di Mario Martone “Il giovane favoloso”, “Capri Revolution”.
Nata nel 2013 come attività di “Movimenti per la fotografia” e prodotta da Casa del Contemporaneo, “Il sabato della fotografia”, è un ciclo di incontri sul linguaggio fotografico e sulla cultura visiva anche in relazione con altri linguaggi artistici. Offre appuntamenti gratuiti con i protagonisti della fotografia italiana e promuove giovani fotografi.

Mario Spada will be the protagonist of the new appointment at the exhibition “Il Sabato della Fotografia”. Tomorrow, January 28 at 11.30 am (free admission) in the Sala Assoli in Naples he will talk about his activity with the curator of the exhibition Pino Miraglia and with the public present in the room.
Spada is one of the most appreciated talents from Campania in the field of photography: he began his own activity, since 1986, documenting stories of people at the margins of society and legality.
These are stories that probably no one would like to see, or at least deepen, necessary to understand the social realities in the city and in the Neapolitan hinterland.
Spada reveals them without half measures and without any delicacy.
His reportages are real, alive and immediate and, at the same time, full of humanity. They invite us to reflect and illuminate the shadows of a self-referential and not at all salvific global system. In the 2000s, Spada dives into social denunciation photography and collaborates with national newspapers and photojournalistic agencies.
In his career characterized by civil commitment he won in 2001 at the Savignano Photography Festival “Portfolio in the square”, with a reportage on the training of combat pit bulls in Naples and in the same year the “Canon young photographers” award – Best Portfolio, with a reportage on the “Mastiffs”: one of the ultras groups of Naples.
In 2007 he participated in the filming of “Gomorrah” as a still photographer and consultant for Scampia. He worked as a still photographer also in Mario Martone’s films “Il giovane favoloso”, “Capri Revolution”.
Born in 2013 as an activity of “Movements for photography” and produced by Casa del Contemporaneo, “Il Sabato della Fotografia”, is a series of meetings on photographic language and visual culture in relation to other artistic languages. It offers free appointments with the protagonists of Italian photography and promotes young photographers.
