Torna Napoli Film Festival. La rassegna diretta da Mario Violini parte lunedì 25 settembre all’Istituto Francese di Napoli tra proiezioni, incontri e eventi tra la Sala Dumas dell’Istituto Francese (via Francesco Crispi 86) e l’Auditorium Santa Luisa di Marillac (via Andrea d’Isernia 23).
L’iniziativa è realizzata da da WooW srls e Institut Francais de Naples con il contributo di Regione Campania e Film Commission Regione Campania e la collaborazione di Open Art – creative grafic design school – Napoli e Wonder Manage.
Si comincia alle 21 nella Sala Dumas di Palazzo Grenoble con “12 repliche”, l’opera prima di Gianfranco Gallo che lo vede protagonista affiancato da Gianni Parisi, Gianluca Di Gennaro, Roberto Azzurro, Elvis Esposito Franco Iavarone e Lisa Imperatore, vincitore del Montreal Indipendent Film Festival come miglior film LGBTQ.
La storia, ambientata nel 2016, ai tempi dell’approvazione della Legge Cirinnà, si incentra sulla figura di un attore che sta per debuttare in teatro con la versione napoletana de “La Cage aux folles”.
La proiezione sarà preceduta alle 20.30 da un breve concerto al pianoforte di Vincenzo Sorrentino, autore delle musiche del film e tra gli autori della colonna sonora de “L’Amica geniale”. In questi giorni su Canale 5 nel cast della serie “La voce che hai dentro” con Massimo Ranieri, Gianfranco Gallo incontrerà il pubblico introducendo la proiezione.
Anteprima italiana martedì 26 settembre alle 21 per la pellicola francese “Petites” di Julie Lerat-Gersant alla presenza della regista. Ritratto di una giovane adolescente a un bivio nella vita che spezza il circolo vizioso degli schemi della sua famiglia disfunzionale, il film ha ottenuto il Premio Boccalino d’Oro dalla critica indipendente del 75° Festival Internazionale del Film Locarno.
Ispirato alla storia vera di Luca Trapanese e sua figlia Alba, mercoledì 27 settembre alle ore 20.30 ci sarà l’anteprima di “Nata per te” (foto) di Fabio Mollo con Pierluigi Gigante e Teresa Saponangelo, in sala dal 5 ottobre con Vision Distribution, alla presenza del cast e dello stesso Trapanese.
“Il fenomeno Mixed by Erry” è il titolo dell’incontro di giovedì 28 settembre alle 20.30 cui parteciperanno Simona Frasca (autrice del libro “Mixed by Erry”), i veri Fratelli Frattasio e gli attori Luigi D’Oriano, Giuseppe Arena e Emanuele Palumbo che li hanno interpretati al cinema, per raccontare un fenomeno degli anni 80 che è stato rinverdito dal successo del film. Al termine, la proiezione del film diretto da Sydney Sibilia che ha vinto il Nastro d’Argento 2023 come miglior commedia.
Vincitore del Giffoni Film Festival nella categoria Generator +16, “Normale” di Olivier Babinet verrà proposto alla presenza del regista venerdì 29 settembre alle ore 20.30. Tratto dall’opera Monster in the hall di David Greig e sceneggiato dal regista con Juliette Sales e Fabien Suarez, la commedia drammatica indaga sul rapporto padre-figlia alle prese con gli assistenti sociali che vogliono separarli. Dal 12 ottobre al cinema in Italia distribuito da No.Mad Entertainment.
Sabato 30 settembre chiudono la manifestazione le premiazioni dei concorsi e l’assegnazione dei Premi Francesco Rosi del Gruppo Campano del Sindacato Nazionale Critici Cinematografici Italiani alle ore 20.30. A seguire l’anteprima del film “A passo d’uomo” di Denis Imbert con il premio Oscar Jean Dujardin.
Sei i lungometraggi che si contenderanno il Vesuvio Award in Nuovo Cinema Italia, nella sezione SchermoNapoli Corti sono stati selezionate diciotto opere. A decretare i vincitori la giuria composta da Alberto Castellano, Vincenzo Nemolato, Marcello Sannino (per Nuovo Cinema Italia) e da Marco Chiappetta, Cristina Donadio e Ignazio Senatore (per SchermoNapoli Corti).
Tante anteprime anche nella nuova sala di 230 posti dell’Auditorium Santa Luisa di Marillac: martedì 26 settembre alle 19 ci sarà “Il proiezionista” di Giovanni Circelli, omaggio allo storico ‘cinematografaro’ napoletani, Alberto Bruno, collezionista di vecchie pellicole e manifesti cinematografici storici (che verrà replicato anche gli altri giorni alla stessa ora).
Seguirà il documentario “Mi chiamo Giancarlo Siani” per la regia di Giuseppe Alessio Nuzzo, realizzato in collaborazione con la Fondazione Giancarlo Siani con i contributi del regista Marco Risi, del fratello Paolo Siani, don Tonino Palmese, Armando D’Alterio, Geppino Fiorenza, Gianmario Siani, Antonella d’Urzo, Vincenzo Sbrizzi.
Mercoledì 27 settembre appuntamento alle 19 con il film “999 – L’Altra Anima del Calcio” di Federico Rizzo, che racconta la storia di Lorenzo diciassettenne attaccante che vive con la sua famiglia e gioca nelle giovanili del Piacenza. Ha l’impeto di chi vuole arrivare e sa di essere forte, ma non sa fare squadra e la sua ribellione sfocia presto in frustrazione tanto da mettere in discussione il suo sogno di diventare un grande calciatore.
L’emergenza eruzione è la chiave narrativa della divertente commedia “In fila per due” di Bruno de Paola prodotto da CinemaFiction con protagonisti Andrea Di Maria e Francesca Chillemi, affiancati da Ilaria Rossi, Adriano Falivene, Antonella Stefanucci, Barbara Savinelli, Brunella Cacciuni, e le partecipazioni speciali di Benedetto Casillo e Giacomo Rizzo, Giovedì 28 settembre la presentazione alle19 in presenza del cast.
Venerdì 29 settembre spazio al documentario “1+1=3” ispirato alla vita del professor Ascierto, che sarà presente in sala, anteprima realizzata in collaborazione con la Fondazione Pascale, seguito da “Amici per la pelle” con Gigi e Ross sulla cura del melanoma, nell’ambito della Notte europea delle Ricercatrici e dei Ricercatori.

The French Institute/Naples Film Festival begins with Gianfranco Gallo’s “12 Repeats” (September 25-30). There is also the movie dedicated to the story of Luca Trapanese, Alba’s adoptive father
The Naples Film Festival returns. The festival, directed by Mario Violini, will start on Monday, September 25th at the French Institute of Naples with screenings, meetings and events between the Dumas room of the French Institute (via Francesco Crispi 86) and the Santa Luisa di Marillac Auditorium (via Andrea d’Isernia 23).
The initiative is produced by WooW srls and Institut Francais de Naples with the contribution of Regione Campania and Film Commission Regione Campania and the collaboration of Open Art – Creative School of Graphic Design – Naples and Wonder Manage.
It starts at 9 p.m. in the Dumas Room of the Palazzo Grenoble with “12 Repeats”, the debut feature film by Gianfranco Gallo, in which he stars together with Gianni Parisi, Gianluca Di Gennaro, Roberto Azzurro, Elvis Esposito Franco Iavarone and Lisa Imperatore, winner of the Montreal Independent Film Festival as the best LGBTQ film.
The story, set in 2016 at the time of the approval of the Cirinnà law, revolves around the character of an actor about to make his theatrical debut in the Neapolitan version of “La Cage aux folles.”
The screening will be preceded at 20:30 by a short piano recital by Vincenzo Sorrentino, composer of the film’s music and one of the authors of the soundtrack to “L’Amica geniale”. Gianfranco Gallo, currently on Channel 5 as part of the series “La voce che hai dentro” with Massimo Ranieri, will introduce the screening.
The Italian premiere of the French film “Petites” by Julie Lerat-Gersant will be held on Tuesday, September 26th at 9 pm, in the presence of the director. The portrait of a young teenage girl at the crossroads of her life who breaks the vicious cycle of her dysfunctional family, the film won the Boccalino d’Oro Award of the Independent Critics at the 75th Locarno International Film Festival.
Inspired by the true story of Luca Trapanese and his daughter Alba, the premiere of Fabio Mollo’s “Nata per te” (photo), starring Pierluigi Gigante and Teresa Saponangelo, will take place on Wednesday, September 27 at 8:30 p.m. with Vision Distribution, in the presence of the cast and Trapanese himself.
“The Mixed by Erry Phenomenon” is the title of the meeting on Thursday, September 28th at 8:30 p.m. with Simona Frasca (author of the book “Mixed by Erry”), the real Frattasio brothers and the actors Luigi D’Oriano, Giuseppe Arena and Emanuele Palumbo, who played them in the film, to tell about a phenomenon of the eighties that has been revived by the success of the film. Finally, the screening of the film directed by Sydney Sibilia, winner of the Silver Ribbon 2023 for the best comedy.
Winner of the Giffoni Film Festival in the Generator +16 category, Olivier Babinet’s “Normal” will be screened on Friday, September 29th at 20:30 in the presence of the director. Based on David Greig’s Monster in the Hall, and written by the director with Juliette Sales and Fabien Suarez, the comedy-drama examines the relationship between a father and his daughter as they struggle with the social workers who want to separate them. From October 12th in cinemas in Italy distributed by No.Mad Entertainment.
On Saturday, September 30th, at 20:30, the Festival will conclude with the awards ceremony for the competitions and the presentation of the Francesco Rosi Awards by the Gruppo Campano of the National Union of Italian Film Critics. This will be followed by the premiere of the film “A passo d’uomo” by Denis Imbert, starring Oscar winner Jean Dujardin.
Six feature films will compete for the Vesuvius Award in Nuovo Cinema Italia; eighteen works have been selected in the SchermoNapoli Corti section. The jury composed of Alberto Castellano, Vincenzo Nemolato and Marcello Sannino (for Nuovo Cinema Italia) and Marco Chiappetta, Cristina Donadio and Ignazio Senatore (for SchermoNapoli Corti) will decide the winners.
The new 230-seat auditorium at the Auditorium Santa Luisa di Marillac will also host a selection of premieres: On Tuesday, September 26th, at 7 p.m., “Il proiezionista” by Giovanni Circelli, a tribute to the historic Neapolitan “cinematographer” Alberto Bruno, a collector of old films and historic movie posters (which will be repeated on other days at the same time).
This will be followed by the documentary “My name is Giancarlo Siani”, directed by Giuseppe Alessio Nuzzo and produced in collaboration with the Giancarlo Siani Foundation, with contributions from director Marco Risi, his brother Paolo Siani, Don Tonino Palmese, Armando D’Alterio, Geppino Fiorenza, Gianmario Siani, Antonella d’Urzo and Vincenzo Sbrizzi.
On Wednesday, September 27th, at 7 p.m., the film “999 – L’Altra Anima del Calcio” (999 – The Other Soul of Football) by Federico Rizzo tells the story of 17-year-old Lorenzo, a striker who lives with his family and plays in the youth team of Piacenza. He has the impetus of someone who wants to get there and knows he is strong, but he does not know how to be a team player, and his rebellion soon turns into frustration, making him question his dream of becoming a great soccer player.
The eruption emergency is the narrative key to the hilarious comedy “In fila per due” by Bruno de Paola, produced by CinemaFiction, starring Andrea Di Maria and Francesca Chillemi, together with Ilaria Rossi, Adriano Falivene, Antonella Stefanucci, Barbara Savinelli, Brunella Cacciuni, and special appearances by Benedetto Casillo and Giacomo Rizzo, Thursday, September 28th presentation at 7 p.m. in the presence of the cast.
On Friday, September 29th, the documentary “1+1=3” inspired by the life of professor Ascierto, who will be present in the theater, a preview made in collaboration with the Pascale Foundation, followed by “Friends for skin” with Gigi and Ross on the treatment of melanoma, as part of the European Researchers’ Night.
