“Open the kingdom”. Carla Viparelli apre il regno della sua creatività in una mostra curata da Alessandra Pacelli. Opere inedite che l’artista napoletana proporrà in una sede insolita, a casa di Gabriella Pascale e Luca Piciocchi, realizzate proprio per questi spazi. Da domani, venerdì 20 ottobre (opening dalle 18.30 alle 23) fino al 30 novembre (su appuntamento tel 3337246155).
Una sede insolita, diversa dagli abituali spazi artistici, ma non tanto perché per Pascale e Piciocchi la dimensione espositiva non è una novità: tra gli anni ’90 e gli inizi 2000 sono stati tra i primi a organizzare incontri di questo tipo nella propria abitazione. Per esempio, le due mostre di Luigi Battisti nel 1999 e nel 2003, e quella di Paolo Berardinelli nel 2000, ospitando negli anni numerosi concerti acustici e performance corali.
Dal 2021, nella nuova casa, in via Tasso 480, hanno fondato l’associazione culturale 480 Site specific per dare vita a nuove iniziative invitando artiste e artisti a dialogare con l’ambiente, creando, attraverso il linguaggio del contemporaneo, atmosfere non convenzionali da condividere con il pubblico. Ne sono testimonianza, le mostre “Motivi” di Luigi Battisti del dicembre 2022 e “PetraFicta” di Giorgio Milano nel maggio di quest’anno.
Fonte d’ispirazione per l’autrice, i propri quaderni d’appunti dove da oltre quarant’anni raccoglie idee di progetti, schizzi e disegni. I lavori esposti sono realizzati a olio, acrilico e pastello su tavola (formato 68 x 122 cm), insieme a una parete che raccoglie un mosaico di piccoli dipinti che si interfacciano coi i suoi taccuini svelati in questa occasione.
Spiega la curatrice nel testo che accompagna il percorso espositivo: «Un’operosità del femminile che si rapporta alle mura domestiche scavando nell’anima della casa e proponendone una lettura mediata proprio dal fare arte. In queste opere l’autrice fonde disegni primigeni, schizzi mai codificati, con tecniche pittoriche di cui ha assoluta padronanza: c’è il manuale che si sposa al digitale con grande armonia, c’è la volatilità della materia, la vicinanza a un sentire intimo che è la negazione del mainstream. Carla è un’artista libera, anarchica, che punta ad andare oltre i propri limiti perché mettersi in gioco, per lei, è una necessità interiore ».
Domenica 26 novembre, Carla Viparelli darà vita a una performance all’esterno dell’abitazione, sulla strada di Parco Matarazzo, dal titolo “Falso movimento”.

“Open the kingdom”. Carla Viparelli opens the kingdom of her creativity in an exhibition curated by Alessandra Pacelli. Never-before-seen works that the Neapolitan artist will propose in an unusual location, at the home of Gabriella Pascale and Luca Picocchi, created precisely for these spaces. From tomorrow Friday, October 20th (opening from 6:30 to 11 p.m.) until November 30th (by appointment tel 3337246155).
An unusual venue, different from the regular art spaces, but not so much because for Pascale and Piciocchi the exhibition dimension is not new: between the 1990s and early 2000s they were among the first to organize such meetings in their own home. For example, the two exhibitions of Luigi Battisti in 1999 and 2003, and that of Paolo Berardinelli in 2000, hosting numerous acoustic concerts and choral performances over the years.
Since 2021, in the new house at 480 Via Tasso, they have founded the cultural association 480 Site Specific to give life to new initiatives by inviting artists to dialogue with the environment, creating, through the language of the contemporary, unconventional atmospheres to be shared with the public. Proof of this, the exhibitions “Motifs” by Luigi Battisti in December 2022 and “PetraFicta” by Giorgio Milano in May this year.
A source of inspiration for the author is her own notebooks, where she has been collecting project ideas, sketches and drawings for over forty years. The works on display are in oil, acrylic and pastel on board (size 68 x 122 cm), along with a wall that collects a mosaic of small paintings that interface with her notebooks unveiled on this occasion.
As the curator explains in the text accompanying the exhibition: “An industriousness of the feminine that refers to the domestic walls, digging into the soul of the home and proposing a reading of it mediated precisely through the making of art. In these works, the author combines primary drawings, sketches that have never been codified, with painting techniques that she knows with absolute mastery: there is the manual that marries with the digital in great harmony, there is the volatility of the material, the closeness to an intimate feeling that is the negation of the mainstream. Carla is a free, anarchic artist who wants to go beyond her own limits, because for her it is an inner necessity to put herself at risk”.
On Sunday, November 26th, Carla Viparelli will give a performance in front of the residence on the road to Matarazzo Park, entitled “False movement”.
