Laurea honoris causa in “Lingue e comunicazione interculturale in area euromediterranea” a Vinicio Capossela (foto). Martedì 26 settembre alle 11 nella basilica di san Giovanni Maggiore, nel cuore storico di Napoli. Gli sarà conferita da Roberto Tottoli, rettore dell’Università degli studi di Napoli L’Orientale, “Lingue e Comunicazione Interculturale in Area Euromediterranea”.
Dopo l’apertura della cerimonia ci saranno i saluti di Giuseppe Cataldi, direttore del dipartimento di scienze umane e sociali, la Laudatio di Anna Mongibello, docente di Lingua e Linguistica inglese, infine la Lectio magistralis del neodottore Vinicio Capossela.
Spiega Tottoli: «La potente, ampia e articolata produzione artistica di Capossela è ispirata agli stessi valori de L’Orientale, ossia solidarietà e accoglienza, resistenza, perseveranza e compassione. Come un laureato modello de L’Orientale, Capossela legge e rielabora con straordinaria lucidità e un’appassionata espressività i grandi temi culturali e sociali del presente e del passato, ibrida repertori, stili, generi letterari e linguaggi apparentemente distanti tra loro. La laurea è un riconoscimento anche alla creatività linguistica delle sue opere, sia nel senso dell’innovazione nell’uso della lingua e della commistione tra lingue diverse, che nella produzione di nuove entità linguistiche, in una continua tensione alla rielaborazione dei modelli di regolarità e di norma nella ricerca costante di un codice che possa raccontare le infinite sfaccettature della realtà».
Commenta Capossela: «Quando 37 anni fa ho abbandonato gli studi universitari, dopo avere assistito a una apparizione poetico musicale che mi rese per un tempo non breve un disadattato, non avrei mai pensato di recuperare, appunto 37 anni dopo. Grazie di cuore alla commissione didattica dell’Università L’Orientale di Napoli per fornirmi questa occasione. L’oriente, Napoli e poi l’area euromediterranea a cui fa riferimento la laurea, sono tutte cose immateriali che hanno a che fare con l’attraversamento del confine più grande: il nostro recinto individuale. Le grandi possibilità che l’essere umano, che le donne e gli uomini hanno in dotazione è il modificarsi continuamente grazie al conoscere. Una conoscenza che non è solo affidata allo studio ma anche all’incontro e all’ascolto».
Il tour autunnale di Capossela dal titolo “Con i tasti che ci abbiamo” farà tappa a Napoli al Teatro Augusteo di Napoli il 12 ottobre (ore 21).
Il 15 dicembre, nell’ambito della mostra su Napoli a Parigi costruita con il gemellaggio tra i musei Louvre e Capodimonte Real Bosco, Capossela terrà un concerto unico sotto la piramide del Louvre intitolato “Giocondità”. Un live che incrocerà nella scelta del repertorio mito, arte e storia che per secoli hanno unito Napoli e Parigi.

Honorary degree in “Languages and intercultural communication in the Euro-Mediterranean area” to Vinicio Capossela. Tuesday, September 26th at 11 a.m. in the basilica of San Giovanni Maggiore in the historic heart of Naples. He will be awarded by Roberto Tottoli, rector of the University of Naples L’Orientale, “Languages and Intercultural Communication in the Euro-Mediterranean Area.”
After the opening of the ceremony there will be the greetings of Giuseppe Cataldi, director of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, the Laudatio by Anna Mongibello, professor of English Language and Linguistics, and finally the Lectio magistralis by the newly appointed Vinicio Capossela.
Tottoli explains, “Capossela’s powerful, wide-ranging and articulate artistic production is inspired by the same values as L’Orientale, namely solidarity and acceptance, resilience, perseverance and compassion. An exemplary graduate of L’Orientale, Capossela reads and reworks the great cultural and social themes of the present and the past with extraordinary clarity and passionate expressiveness, hybridizing repertoires, styles, literary genres and languages that seem far apart. The degree is also a recognition of the linguistic creativity of his works, both in the sense of innovation in the use of language and in the mixing of different languages, and in the production of new linguistic entities, in a constant tension towards the reworking of patterns of regularity and normality, in the constant search for a code that can tell the infinite facets of reality”.
Capossela comments, “When I dropped out of university studies 37 years ago, after witnessing a poetic-musical apparition that made me a geek for no short time, I never thought I would make up for it, precisely 37 years later. Many thanks to the teaching committee of L’Orientale University in Naples for providing me with this opportunity. The Orient, Naples, and then the Euro-Mediterranean area referred to in the degree, are all immaterial things that have to do with crossing the greatest boundary: our individual enclosure. The great possibilities that the human being, that women and men have in their endowment is the continuous modification through knowing. A knowledge that is not only entrusted to study but also to encountering and listening.”
Capossela’s fall tour entitled “Con i tasti che ci abbiamo” will make a stop in Naples at the Augusteo Theater in Naples on Oct. 12 (9 p.m.).
On December 15th, as part of the exhibition on Naples in Paris built through the twinning between the Louvre and Capodimonte Real Bosco museums, Capossela will hold a unique concert under the Louvre pyramid entitled “Giocondità.” A live performance that will intersect in the choice of repertoire myth, art and history that have united Naples and Paris for centuries.
