Il terzo ep di Livio Cori (in foto), da oggi, 13 gennaio, su tutte le piattaforme digitali, con la sua etichetta Magma e distribuito da Believe. Scritto interamente dallo stesso Livio e prodotto insieme ad Eitaway.
“Solidago” è un ep dalle sonorità alternative R&B oscure che racconta gli stati d’animo successivi alla fine di una storia d’amore e il difficile percorso per lasciarsela alle spalle. Un lavoro terapeutico volto alla guarigione di un cuore dolorante.
Spiega l’artista: «È sicuramente il più intimo dei mei Ep, potrei definirlo terapeutico, l’ho fatto più per seguire una mia esigenza che una discografia o magari per chi lo ascolterà, scriverlo è stato un vero bene per me».
Non a caso il nome “Solidago” – che deriva dal latino – è riconducibile ad una pianta curativa antinfiammatoria che si fa apprezzare per la splendida fioritura, ma anche per le sue proprietà benefiche: rafforzare, consolidare, guarire.
L’Ep – oltre al singolo d’apertura – contiene i seguenti brani: Sulo Pe Chella, uscito lo scorso 13 dicembre, Scinne, Nun M’Annammoro, Tutte Le Parole e infine Niente A Ce Dicere.
La produzione musicale e artistica è curata dallo stesso Livio Cori insieme al chitarrista Simone Ottaviano in arte Eitaway.
Livio nasce il 12 marzo del 1990. Figlio della lava e del mare, nato e cresciuto nei quartieri spagnoli. Esordisce sulla scena musicale a soli 18 anni, nel 2008, collaborando con artisti come Dj Uma e Jesa.
Nel 2015 realizza il singolo Tutta la notte in collaborazione con Ghemon, posizionandosi in vetta alla classifica di MTV. Viene premiato con il Premio MEI, come miglior artista emergente hip hop. Esce il singolo Veleno, realizzato insieme a Luché nel 2016.
Nello stesso anno riceve la chiamata per partecipare al provino di Gomorra 3. Il ruolo interpretato è quello di ‘O Selfie, raggiungendo così la popolarità nel 2017. Per la serie televisiva produce la colonna sonora Surdat, una canzone interamente ispirata a Napoli e al Quartiere presso cui è cresciuto.
Nel 2018 pubblica il suo primo Ep dal titolo Montecalvario come il luogo dove è cresciuto ai Quartieri. Contiene brani come Nenné, Luce, M’adda passà, A casa mia. Nel 2019 prende parte alla sessantanovesima edizione del Festival di Sanremo, in coppia con il cantautore Nino D’Angelo, presentando il brano Un’altra luce.
Posticipa l’uscita del suo primo album subito dopo Sanremo. Esce nel 2019 Montecalvario (Core senza paura), da cui vengono estratti due singoli remix A casa mia con Samurai Jay e Adda passà con CoCo.
Nel 2020 ecco Femmena, il suo disco realizzato insieme a Eitaway nel quale Livio esplora i suoi legami con le figure femminili che lo hanno segnato nel bene e nel male.
Nel 2021 collabora con Neffa al singolo Nn’è cagnato niente. Pubblica il suo secondo EP Blu Verano, che contiene un altro brano realizzato con Neffa, Respiro ancora. Nel 2022 è protagonista musicalmente nel programma “Made in Sud” in onda su Rai Uno. Nello stesso anno vede la luce il suo secondo EP Tarantelle.

Music/ ‘Solidago’, Livio Cori’s new ep: ‘A therapeutic project, writing it was really good for me’
Livio Cori’s third ep (photo), from today, 13 January, on all digital platforms, under his Magma label and distributed by Believe. Written entirely by Livio himself and produced together with Eitaway.
“Solidago” is an ep with dark alternative R&B sounds that tells of the moods following the end of a love affair and the difficult path to leave it behind. A therapeutic work aimed at healing an aching heart.
The artist explains: ‘It is definitely the most intimate of my EPs, I could call it therapeutic, I did it more to follow my own needs than a discography or maybe for those who will listen to it, writing it was really good for me.
It is no coincidence that the name ‘Solidago’ – which derives from Latin – can be traced back to an anti-inflammatory healing plant that is appreciated for its beautiful blooms, but also for its beneficial properties: strengthening, consolidating, healing.
The EP – besides the opening single – contains the following tracks: Sulo Pe Chella, released on 13 December, Scinne, Nun M’Annammoro, Tutte Le Parole and finally Niente A Ce Dicere.
The musical and artistic production is handled by Livio Cori himself together with guitarist Simone Ottaviano aka Eitaway.
Livio was born on 12 March 1990. Son of lava and the sea, he was born and raised in the Spanish quarters. He made his debut on the music scene when he was only 18, in 2008, collaborating with artists such as Dj Uma and Jesa.
In 2015, he released the single Tutta la notte in collaboration with Ghemon, topping the MTV charts. He was awarded the MEI Prize as best emerging hip hop artist. He released the single Veleno, co-produced with Luché in 2016.
In the same year, he received the call to audition for Gomorra 3. The role he played was that of ‘O Selfie, reaching popularity in 2017. For the TV series, he produced the soundtrack Surdat, a song entirely inspired by Naples and the neighbourhood where he grew up.
In 2018, he released his first EP entitled Montecalvario after the place where he grew up in the Quartieri. It contains tracks such as Nenné, Luce, M’adda passà, A casa mia. In 2019 he takes part in the sixty-ninth edition of the Sanremo Festival, paired with singer-songwriter Nino D’Angelo, presenting the song Un’altra luce.
He postpones the release of his first album immediately after Sanremo. In 2019, Montecalvario (Core senza paura) is released, from which two remix singles A casa mia with Samurai Jay and Adda passà with CoCo are extracted.
In 2020 comes Femmena, his record made together with Eitaway in which Livio explores his ties with female figures who have marked him for better or worse.
In 2021 he collaborates with Neffa on the single Nn’è cagnato niente. He publishes his second EP Blu Verano, which contains another track made with Neffa, Respiro ancora. In 2022, he was the musical protagonist in the programme ‘Made in Sud’ aired on Rai Uno. The same year saw the release of his second EP Tarantelle.
