Un mirto per Giulia all’orto botanico dell’università Federico II di Napoli. In occasione della XIII edizione della “Festa dell’albero”, si è piantato l’albero (foto), osservando un minuto di silenzio in memoria della giovanissima vittima di femminicidio.
La manifestazione, coordinata dalla dottoressa Rossella Muoio, si è svolta alla presenza di 300 studenti, una piccola rappresentanza degli istituti scolastici che partecipano alla “X Rassegna del Cineforum del CLA per le scuole”, progetto a cura del Centro Linguistico di Ateneo della Federico II, coordinato dalla dottoressa Fabrizia Venuta.
Gli studenti presenti hanno poi dato vita a un flashmob durante il quale hanno abbracciato gli alberi situati intorno al mirto.
La parola “mirto” evoca il nome di Myrsìne una fanciulla attica uccisa secondo la leggenda da un giovane da lei vinto nei giochi ginnici e poi trasformata in arbusto dalla dea Atena.
Simbolo di pace, purezza e amore, il mirto di Giulia esprimerà per sempre la condanna di questo come di tutti i femminicidi, nella speranza che le ragioni che hanno armato la mano del suo carnefice siano combattute e vinte dagli stessi ragazzi che lo hanno piantato.
Dopo l’atroce delitto, alla Federico II si è deciso, in queste settimane, di far cominciare con un minuto di ritardo le sedute di laurea. Chiedendo a tutti i presenti un minuto per riflettere su un sogno spezzato da chi dice di volerti bene.
A Giulia Cecchettin è dedicato il seminario in programma il 28 novembre, alle 8.30, nell’Aula A1, della sede federiciana di via Marina 33.
È organizzato dal Cug Comitato Unico di Garanzia per le pari opportunità, la valorizzazione del benessere di chi lavora e contro le discriminazioni, insieme con il Master di II livello Studi di genere, educazione alle differenze e politiche di uguaglianza” del dipartimento di studi Umanistici, e con la Commissione pari opportunità di Giurisprudenza, in occasione della Giornata internazionale per l’eliminazione della violenza contro le donne.
Al centro del dibattito, una riflessione sulle matrici culturali della violenza, ancora molto radicate nelle coscienze e pericolosamente propagate attraverso il web.
Botanical Garden/ Giulia’s Myrtle: 300 students from Federico II University to plant a tree dedicated to the young woman killed by her ex-boyfriend
A myrtle for Giulia in the Botanical Garden of the Federico II University of Naples. A tree was planted (photo) and a minute of silence was observed in memory of the young victim of feminicide during the 13th edition of the “Tree Festival”.
The event, coordinated by Dr. Rossella Muoio, was held in the presence of 300 students, a small representation of the schools participating in the “10th CLA Cineforum Review for Schools”, a project curated by the Federico II University Language Center and coordinated by Dr. Fabrizia Venuta.
The students present then initiated a flash mob in which they embraced the trees surrounding the myrtle.
The word “myrtle” evokes the name of Myrsìne, an Attic maiden who, according to legend, was killed by a young man she defeated in gymnastics games and then transformed into a shrub by the goddess Athena.
A symbol of peace, purity and love, Julia’s myrtle will forever express the condemnation of this and all feminicides, in the hope that the reasons that armed her executioner’s hand will be fought and overcome by the very boys who planted it.
In the wake of this heinous crime, it was decided at Federico II that the graduation ceremonies would begin one minute later in the coming weeks. Asking everyone a minute to reflect on a dream broken by those who say : “l love you”.
The seminar dedicated to Giulia Cecchettin will take place on November 28th at 8:30 a.m. in Room A1 of the Federiciana Campus, Via Marina 33.
It is organized by the Cug (Comitato Unico di Garanzia for equal opportunities, the improvement of the well-being of people at work and against discrimination) together with the Master in Gender Studies, Education for Differences and Equality Policies of the Faculty of Humanities and the Equal Opportunities Commission of the Law, on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
The focus of the discussion will be a reflection on the cultural matrices of violence that are still deeply rooted in consciousness and dangerously propagated through the Internet.
