Real Sito di Carditello. Dopo i lavori di restauro, riapre il galoppatoio (foto) tanto caro a Ferdinando IV, pronto ad ospitare i grandi eventi promossi dalla Fondazione, come il Carditello Festival nel mese di luglio, e i voli della mongolfiera di Volare sull’arte, che permettono durante i weekend di scoprire la Reggia borbonica da una nuova prospettiva.
Spiega Maurizio Maddaloni, presidente della Fondazione: «Stiamo lavorando alacremente per la completa rifunzionalizzazione del sito. Entro inizio marzo apriremo anche le sale della palazzina reale, dopo un lungo cantiere di restauro, arricchite oggi da supporti derivanti dalle nuove tecnologie e dal progetto Carditello Digitale, mediante l’attivazione di una sala immersiva nella quale saranno fruibili contenuti digitali. Una piattaforma che ci consentirà di divulgare la nostra storia con nuovi linguaggi, integrando l’offerta culturale del Real Sito e realizzando laboratori didattici per scuole e famiglie».
In particolare, sono stati già realizzati diversi interventi nel Galoppatoio: ripristinato l’antico fossato borbonico, riprendendo l’originale percorso delle acque meteoriche; restaurate le gradinate che un tempo ospitavano il pubblico delle manifestazioni equestri popolari; rimesse a nuovo le colonne dei cancelli, eliminando le ferite del tempo; ricostruito da zero l’abbeveratoio esterno, utilizzato dai viandanti che facevano sosta nella Reale Delizia; effettuato il secondo intervento di restauro sulle Fontane monumentali con obelischi, un tempo alimentate dall’Acquedotto Carolino, che ha permesso lo sbiancamento dei decori artistici e la completa rifunzionalizzazione, dopo il primo recupero effettuato grazie al censimento del Fai “I Luoghi del Cuore”.

Royal site of Carditello. After the restoration works, the Gallop (photo) so dear to Ferdinand IV, has reopened and is ready to host the great events promoted by the Foundation, such as the Carditello Festival in July and the Volare balloon flights over art, which during the weekends allow to discover the Bourbon Palace from a new perspective.
Maurizio Maddaloni, President of the Foundation, explains: “We are working hard to completely revitalize the site. At the beginning of March, after a long period of restoration work, we will also open the rooms of the Royal Palace, enriched today with the support of new technologies and the Carditello Digitale project, through the activation of an immersive space where digital content will be used. A platform that will allow us to tell our history with new languages, integrating the cultural offer of the Royal site and creating educational workshops for schools and families”.
In particular, several interventions have already been carried out in the Galoppatoio: the restoration of the ancient Bourbon moat, recovering the original path of the meteoric waters; the renovation of the stands that once housed the spectators of the popular equestrian events; the restoration of the columns of the gates, eliminating the wounds of time; the reconstruction from scratch of the external trough, used by travelers who stopped at the Royal Delight; carried out the second restoration of the monumental fountains with obelisks, once fed by the Carolino aqueduct, which allowed the whitening of the artistic decorations and the complete re-functioning, after the first recovery carried out thanks to the Fai census “Places of the Heart. “
