Si è rifatto il look, il teatro San Carlo ed è pronto a riaccogliere il pubblico dopo i lavori di restauro. Grazie a un finanziamento di 10 milioni di euro del Ministero della cultura, il Massimo napoletano, simbolo della città, ripropone lo splendore della propria sala e riporta alla luce l’azzurro borbonico delle origini.
Nel Palco reale infatti, gli interventi di restauro hanno svelato gli antichi colori al di sotto del rosso e dell’oro. Queste porzioni di colorazione celeste resteranno visibili in modo da poter essere visibili.
Oltre al palco, ristrutturata l’intera sala e ritrovato anche il soffitto con la tela del Cammarano. Inoltre sono stati effettuati interventi di sostituzione del tavolato del palcoscenico e del parquet della sala, di revisione del sistema di aggancio delle poltrone di platea, di restauro dell’agremano, dell’intradosso e dell’estradosso dell’arco di boccascena, dell’orologio di proscenio, della fascia basamentale di platea, della balaustra della fossa orchestrale e della volta del passetto; Intervento, infine, su impianto di riscaldamento, idrico antincendio e rilevazione fumi, montacarichi e sistema elettrico.
Riapre i battenti giovedì 6 aprile alle 19 con il concerto del celebre soprano Pretty Yende. L’artista (che il prossimo maggio parteciperà alla cerimonia di incoronazione di re Carlo III all’Abbazia di Westminster di Londra) sarà accompagnata al pianoforte dal pianista Michele D’Elia in un programma che include brani di Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Gioachino Rossini, Claude Debussy, Franz Listz e Gaetano Donizetti.
Tra le stelle più brillanti della musica classica a livello internazionale, Pretty Yende si è esibita in tutti i maggiori teatri del mondo, come Royal Opera House, Covent Garden di Londra, Opéra di Parigi, Metropolitan Opera di New York, Teatro alla Scala di Milano, Deutsche Oper di e Staatsoper di Berlino, Bayerische Staatsoper a Monaco, Opernhaus di Zurigo, Gran Teatre del Liceu di Barcellona, Wiener Staatsoper e molti altri.
Sarà invece Die Walküre di Richard Wagner la prima opera in scena, dal 16 al 29 aprile con la regia di Federico Tiezzi, scene e costumi di Giulio Paolini e Giovanna Buzzi. Sul podio, dirigerà l’Orchestra del Teatro di San Carlo Dan Ettinger.
Sul palco, nei panni di Siegmund ci sarà Jonas Kaufmann che torna al San Carlo dopo l’Otello inaugurale dello scorso anno. John Relyea sarà Hunding, Christopher Maltman interpreterà Wotan, Vida Miknevičiūtė darà voce a Sieglinde, Varduhi Abrahamyan presterà ilroprio volto a Fricka, Okka von der Damerau ricoprirà il ruolo di Brünnhilde.
Die Walküre è il secondo dei quattro drammi musicali che compongono la Tetralogia L’Anello del Nibelungo di Richard Wagner. Composta tra il 1851 e il 1856, questa opera rappresenta un punto culminante nella carriera di Wagner, ed è stata celebrata come un’opera monumentale. Epica e commovente, rappresenta uno dei massimi esempi di teatro musicale del XIX secolo.

After renovations, the San Carlo theater regains its Bourbon blue and reopens to the public with the opera singer Pretty Yende

Thanks to a 10-million-euro grant from the Ministry of Culture, Naples’ landmark Teatro Massimo is repurposing the splendor of its hall and bringing back the Bourbon blue of its origins.
