Approderà a Napoli nel mese di novembre il progetto Art for women today, passando per Ginevra in aprile. L’idea è dell’artista di origini partenopee Caterina Arciprete (con la Galleri Artsight di Stoccolma) che negli spazi della Fondazione Beta, sabato 8 marzo (dalle 12 alle 18) proporrà con il gruppo di autrici una collezione di stampe artistiche limited edition, realizzata per sostenere i progetti dell’associazione Pianoterra a favore di famiglie vulnerabili.
L’associazione è nata a Napoli nel 2008, opera oggi anche a Roma e a Castel Volturno con l’obiettivo di stare accanto a nuclei familiari fragili in cui sono presenti bambini e bambine molto piccoli. Pianoterra lavora in particolare con le madri per accompagnarle in un percorso di empowerment e garantire ai bambini pari opportunità di crescere sani e sereni, nonostante condizioni di partenza svantaggiate.
In mostra per tre settimane anche le opere originali delle artiste (foto), che in grande maggioranza saranno presenti all’evento inaugurale, giungendo da diversi paesi. Art for women today è nato dall’esigenza di lasciare una traccia, una testimonianza artistica volta a descrivere la donna nel momento storico contemporaneo.
Così si offre forma alla narrazione visiva di una esperienza vissuta, della condizione intima che, consciamente o inconsciamente, prende il suo spazio in ogni donna, influenzata da eventi personali e sociali affrontati a contatto con il suo specifico circostante. Una fotografia sincera – e a volte impietosa – del nostro tempo, che ogni artista svilupperà rispondendo a sé stessa e la suo modo di concepire la creatività.
Con Arciprete, nel collettivo ci sono: Elena Belobragina, Isabelle De Boulloche, Linda Kunik, Gisela Quinteros, Virgina Maria Romero, Gaya Shantaram, Yemisi Wilson, Sylvie Wozniak.
Il sostegno di Art for women today all’associazione Pianoterra è concreto e diretto: le stampe d’artista, raccolte in eleganti cofanetti in edizione limitata, saranno in vendita e il ricavato andrà interamente all’organizzazione. Le artiste del collettivo saranno inoltre coinvolte in percorsi laboratoriali con le donne e i bambini che frequentano gli spazi dell’associazione, per rendere concreto e continuativo un obiettivo: essere al fianco di tutte le donne, attraverso l’arte.
La mostra Art for Women Today, che nella Galleri Artsight di Stoccolma ha trovato una sua prima casa, nella tappa romana ha il patrocinio dell’ambasciata di Svezia in Italia.
la mostra chiude sabato 22 marzo con il laboratorio creativo “Io sono onda”, a cura di Caterina Arciprete. Il laboratorio si svolgerà dalle 10 alle 12.30 nei locali dedicati all’esposizione. È aperto a tutti e tutte con un contributo di 20 euro: perché si svolga sono necessarie almeno 6 sei iscrizioni.

Rome/ Founded by the Neapolitan Caterina Arciprete, the international collective Art for women today lands at the Fondazione Beta: on displey limited edition art prints to support fragile families
The project “Art for women today” will arrive in Naples in November and will pass through Geneva in April. The idea comes from the Neapolitan artist Caterina Arciprete (with the Galleri Artsight in Stockholm) who, on Saturday the 8th of March (from 12.00 to 18.00) in the rooms of the Fondazione Beta, together with the group of authors, will propose a collection of limited edition artistic prints created to support the projects of the association Pianoterra in favour of families in need.
Founded in Naples in 2008, the association Pianoterra now operates in Rome and Castel Volturno, with the aim of supporting socially disadvantaged families with very young children. In particular, Pianoterra works with mothers to help them along the path of empowerment and to guarantee their children equal opportunities to grow up healthy and happy, despite their difficult circumstances.
The original works of the artists (photo), most of whom will be present at the inauguration, will also be on display for three weeks. Art for Women Today was born out of the need to leave a trace, an artistic testimony that aims to describe women in the contemporary historical moment.
With Arciprete, in the collective there are: Elena Belobragina, Isabelle De Boulloche, Linda Kunik, Gisela Quinteros, Virgina Maria Romero, Gaya Shantaram, Yemisi Wilson, Sylvie Wozniak.
Art for Women Today’s support for Pianoterra is concrete and direct: the artists’ prints, collected in elegant limited edition boxes, will be on sale and the proceeds will go entirely to the association. The artists of the collective will also be involved in workshops with the women and children who frequent the association’s premises, in order to achieve a concrete and continuous objective: to be at the side of all women through art.
The exhibition “Art for Women Today”, which found its first home at the Artsight Galleries in Stockholm, has the patronage of the Swedish Embassy in Italty for the initiative in the capital.
The exhibition will close on Saturday 22 March with the creative workshop “I am wave”, curated by Caterina Arciprete. The workshop will take place in the exhibition space from 10.00 to 12.30. It is open to all for a contribution of 20 euros: a minimum of six registrations is required for it to take place.
