Settimo appuntamento per la stagione teatrale 2023-2024 del Teatro Cilea (Via San Domenico 11, Napoli) con Maurizio Casagrande (foto copertina) che dal primo al 4 febbraio e dal 22 al 25 febbraio sarà in scena con lo spettacolo “Il viaggio del papà” (foto in basso).
Sarà il palcoscenico del Vomero a ospitare il debutto partenopeo, giovedì alle 21 (repliche fino al giorno 4, e poi ancora dal 22 al 25 febbraio), di Maurizio Casagrande interprete e regista del nuovo spettacolo da lui scritto a quattro mani con Francesco Velonà e presentato da Italia Concerti. L’allestimento, che dà il via alla tournée nazionale proprio da Napoli, vedrà in scena Ania Cecilia, Michele Capone, Giovanni Iovino e la performer Arianna Pucci, con il disegno luci a cura di Saverio Toppi, la scenografia di Max Comune, i costumi di Mariarosaria Riccio.
Il viaggio del papà è la storia di un padre e di un figlio che non si conoscono affatto, e che provano un profondo fastidio l’uno nei confronti dell’altro, divisi da sempre dalle loro differenze.
Il padre avrebbe voluto un figlio che gli somigliasse, pragmatico, efficiente e spregiudicato, sempre alla ricerca del successo personale, esattamente come lui.
Invece gli è capitato un figlio sognatore, vacuo e incapace di realizzare qualunque cosa. Il figlio, dal canto suo, avrebbe voluto un padre che non incarnasse rigidamente la figura genitoriale, senza pregiudizi nei suoi confronti, che avesse una visione più ampia e moderna del mondo.
Due realtà che non s’intendono provano a darsi una possibilità d’incontro, decidendo di fare un viaggio insieme, con la speranza che questa esperienza condivisa possa abbattere il muro che li divide. Durante il loro viaggio accadrà un evento straordinario che li porterà a cambiare la loro visione del mondo.
«Ci tenevo molto – spiega Casagrande – a raccontare questa storia, perché credo sia molto importante vedere un uomo convinto di sapere tutto, crollare di fronte ai suoi peggiori incubi, fa sempre ridere, e far ridere è la mia missione principale. Se poi nel farlo, riesco ad accendere anche una piccola riflessione sono veramente felice. Ah, dimenticavo, ho scelto questo titolo perché, in fondo, il papà è il nostro primo eroe».
Come novelli Robinson Crusoe si ritroveranno naufraghi su un’isola sconosciuta, costretti a cooperare e aiutarsi a vicenda per sopravvivere. Scopriranno che quell’isola non è come tutte le altre. È fatta di plastica e tutto quello che troveranno in quel luogo non è quello che sembra. Questo li porterà a un incontro con un essere sovrannaturale che, attraverso il linguaggio universale della musica, chiederà il loro aiuto per non morire.
«Lo spettacolo – continua Casagrande – vuole essere innovativo con alla base un concetto importante: la cura dell’ambiente. Non ha la presunzione di insegnare nulla a nessuno bensì mantiene intatta la voglia di divertire il pubblico. La messa in scena è una favola che affonda le radici nella realtà, come del resto tutte le favole. Vogliamo mandare un messaggio però lo facciamo con leggerezza, rivolgendoci al bambino che c’è in ognuno di noi, la parte più vitale dell’essere umano».

Prosa, musica, comicità e tante emozioni: questi gli ingredienti del cartellone 2023/2024 che propone al pubblico il teatro Cilea di Napoli per una stagione ricca di imperdibili appuntamenti, tra novità e ritorni attesi.
Lello Arena, ancora una volta alla guida della storica sala vomerese come direttore artistico, firma una rassegna adatta ad un pubblico di tutte le età grazie ad un cartellone che vanta molti nomi della comicità napoletana di grande popolarità affermati su scala nazionale.
Dal 29 febbraio al 3 marzo 2024 con uno spettacolo scritto da Stefano Sarcinelli in scena Francesco Paolantoni in “O… Tello O… Io” con Stefano Sarcinelli, Felicia del Prete, Raffaele Esposito, Arduino Speranza per una serata filo…drammatica è uno spettacolo ispirato alla commedia dell’arte. “Balcone a tre piazze” invece è lo spettacolo che vede protagonista Biagio Izzo. Scritto di Mirko Setaro e Francesco Velonà, con la regia di Pino L’Abbate, è una divertentissima commedia che andrà in scena dal 4 aprile.
“I Tre Terones & Friends” invece è lo spettacolo inedito con Lello Arena e Nino Frassica che prevede un terzo attore comico che verrà svelato a sorpresa. A chiudere la stagione teatrale del Cilea ci sarà Serena Autieri. Dal 9 maggio l’attrice e cantante napoletana sarà in scena con la regia di Gino Landi in “La Sciantosa” spettacolo scritto da Vincenzo Incenzo dove rilegge Elvira Donnarumma, detta “’a capinera napulitana”, regina indiscussa dei cafè chantant d’inizio 900, anticonformista e antidiva, amata da Eleonora Duse e Matilde Serao.

Seventh appointment for the 2023-2024 theatre season of the Cilea Theatre in Naples with Maurizio Casagrande who will be on stage from 1st to 4th February and from 22nd to 25th February with the show ‘Il viaggio del papà’.
It will be the Teatro Cilea to host the Neapolitan debut, on Thursday 1st February at 9 p.m. (repetitions until 4th February, and then again from 22 to 25 February), of Maurizio Casagrande, interpreter and director of the new show Il viaggio del papà (Daddy’s Journey), written by him in four hands with Francesco Velonà and presented by Italia Concerti. The production, which begins its national tour from Naples, will feature Ania Cecilia, Michele Capone, Giovanni Iovino and the performer Arianna Pucci, with lighting design by Saverio Toppi, set design by Max Comune, and costumes by Mariarosaria Riccio.
Daddy’s Journey is the story of a father and son who do not know each other at all, and who feel a deep annoyance towards each other, forever divided by their differences.
The father would have liked a son who looked like him, pragmatic, efficient and unscrupulous, always striving for personal success, just like him.
Instead he got a dreamer son, vacuous and unable to achieve anything. The son, for his part, would have liked a father who did not rigidly embody the parental figure, without prejudice towards him, who had a broader and more modern view of the world.
Two realities that do not understand each other try to give each other a chance to meet, deciding to go on a journey together, in the hope that this shared experience will break down the wall that divides them. During their journey, an extraordinary event will happen that will lead them to change their vision of the world.
«I really wanted to tell this story,’ Casagrande explains, ‘because I think it is very important to see a man who is convinced he knows everything, collapse in front of his worst nightmares, it always makes you laugh, and making people laugh is my main mission. If in doing so, I also manage to spark a little reflection, I am truly happy. Oh, I forgot, I chose this title because, after all, daddy is our first hero».
Like novice Robinson Crusoes, they will find themselves shipwrecked on an unknown island, forced to cooperate and help each other to survive. They will discover that that island is not like any other. It is made of plastic and everything they find there is not what it seems.This will lead them to an encounter with a supernatural being who, through the universal language of music, will ask for their help not to die.
«The show,’ Casagrande continues, ‘wants to be innovative with an important concept at its base: care for the environment. The show does not presume to teach anyone anything, but keeps the desire to entertain the audience intact. The staging is a fairy tale rooted in reality, as are all fairy tales. The message we want to give, however, we do so with lightness, addressing the child that is in each of us, the most vital part of the human being».

Prose, music, comedy, and many emotions: these are the ingredients of the 2023/2024 playbill that the Cilea Theatre in Naples offers its public for a season full of unmissable appointments, including novelties and long-awaited returns.
Lello Arena, once again at the helm of the historic theatre in Vomero as artistic director, signs a season suitable for an audience of all ages thanks to a playbill that boasts many popular Neapolitan comedians established on a national scale.
From 29th February to 3rd March with a show written by Stefano Sarcinelli on stage is Francesco Paolantoni in “O… Tello O… Io” with Stefano Sarcinelli, Felicia del Prete, Raffaele Esposito, and Arduino Speranza for a filo…drammatica evening is a show inspired by the commedia dell’arte. ‘Balcone a tre piazze’ (Three-Square Balcony), on the other hand, is the show starring Biagio Izzo. Written by Mirko Setaro and Francesco Velonà, and directed by Pino L’Abbate, it is a hilarious comedy that will be on stage from 4th April.
“I Tre Terones & Friends”, on the other hand, is the new show with Lello Arena and Nino Frassica that will feature a third comic actor to be revealed as a surprise. Closing the Cilea’s theatre season will be Serena Autieri. Starting on 9 May, the Neapolitan actress and singer will be on stage under the direction of Gino Landi in ‘La Sciantosa’, a show written by Vincenzo Incenzo in which she re-reads Elvira Donnarumma, known as ‘a capinera napulitana’, the undisputed queen of the café chantant in the early 20th century, non-conformist and anti-diva, loved by Eleonora Duse and Matilde Serao.
