Couperin, Liszt, Bartok, Prokofiev e Ravel al teatro Sannazaro con la pianista Ying Li. Domani, giovedì 8 febbraio (alle 20.30) al Teatro Sannazaro, per la stagione musicale dell’Associazione Alessandro Scarlatti.
Tra assonanze e contrasti, la giovane musicista cinese presenta una singolare ed originale sequenza in una serata realizzata con la collaborazione della Società dei Concerti di Milano, ideatrice ed organizzatrice del prestigioso Premio Internazionale Antonio Mormone.
Riservato ai giovani talenti, Ying Li (foto) questo riconoscimento lo ha ottenuto nel luglio del 2021, al Teatro alla Scala di Milano, per la pregevole esecuzione del secondo concerto di Rachmaninov. Nello stesso anno, solo due mesi dopo, la pianista ha poi confermato il suo straordinario talento anche a New York, vincendo lo YCA (Young Concert Artists) – Susan Wadsworth International Auditions.
Spiega Ying Li, classe 1997: «La musica è sempre stata presente in casa; i miei genitori si dilettavano a suonare e uno zio materno è un pianista professionista. Ricordo che, piccolissima, cercavo di suonare il pianoforte o, perlomeno, pestavo la tastiera cantando a squarciagola, disturbando così parenti e amici finché i miei chiesero allo zio di darmi qualche lezione. Avevo cinque anni, pensavo di aver trovato un nuovo giocattolo invece è diventato un protagonista della mia vita».
Ha solo 5 anni Ying Li quando inizia a studiare pianoforte al Conservatorio Centrale di Pechino e, quattordicenne, si trasferisce negli Stati Uniti per studiare con Jonathan Biss e Seymour Lipkin al Curtis Institute of Music di Philadelphia.
Dopo il diploma (nel 2019) continua i suoi studi alla Julliard di New York, con Robert McDonald, conseguendo nel giugno del 2021 il Master of Music. In questi anni ha suonato con la Philadelphia Orchestra, New Jersey Symphony, St. Petersburg Chamber Philharmonic, Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie, Orchestra Accademia Teatro alla Scala, Longwood Symphony.

Teatro Sannazaro/ The Scarlatti association: here is the Chinese pianist Ying Li, a young international talent
Couperin, Liszt, Bartok, Prokofiev and Ravel at the Sannazaro Theater with the pianist Ying Li. Tomorrow, Thursday, February 8th (at 8:30 p.m.) at the Sannazaro Theater, for the musical season of the Alessandro Scarlatti Association.
Between assonances and contrasts, the young Chinese musician presents a singular and original sequence in an evening realized with the collaboration of the Milan Concert Society, creator and organizer of the prestigious Antonio Mormone International Prize.
Reserved for young talents, Ying Li won this award in July 2021, at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, for her fine performance of Rachmaninov’s Second Concerto. In the same year, only two months later, the pianist then also confirmed her extraordinary talent in New York, winning the YCA (Young Concert Artists) – Susan Wadsworth International Auditions.
Ying Li, born in 1997, explains: “Music was always present in our home; my parents loved to play music and a maternal uncle is a professional pianist. I remember trying to play the piano at a very young age, or at least stomping on the keyboard and singing at the top of my lungs, disturbing relatives and friends until my parents asked my uncle to give me lessons. I was five years old, I thought I had found a new toy, instead it became the main character in my life”.
Ying Li was only 5 when she began studying piano at the Central Conservatory in Beijing, and at 14 she moved to the United States to study with Jonathan Biss and Seymour Lipkin at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia.
After graduating in 2019, she continued her studies at the Juilliard School in New York with Robert McDonald, where she received her Master of Music degree in June 2021. In recent years she has performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra, New Jersey Symphony, St. Petersburg Chamber Philharmonic, Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie, Orchestra Accademia Teatro alla Scala, Longwood Symphony.
