I social sono stati la vera vetrina di Sanremo. Hanno offerto apprezzamenti, critiche e persino insulti da comporre per un post che potesse essere seguito da più follower. Un carrozzone colorato, il festival, che comunque ha riempito le serate di tante famiglie italiane. E qualche persona che non l’ha visto si è sentita anche un po’ tagliata fuori dalle conversazioni con amici e parenti rimasti incollati, invece, alla tv.
Ma adesso a luci spente, quella che può accendersi davvero è la voglia di musica autentica, oltre le luci della ribalta. L’occasione per celebrarla è un incontro legato alla memoria musicale degli anni settanta che si condensa in una performance dal titolo: “I have a dream, Io ho un sogno” dal titolo del discorso del leader per i diritti civili degli afroamericani, Marthin Luther King, assassinato nell’aprile 1968 proprio per la sua lotta contro la segregazione razziale. Nel segno della pace e del libero pensiero. una strada da indicare alle nuovissime generazioni.
A esibirsi, sabato 22 febbraio alle 11, sulle scale della libreria IoCiSto (via Cimarosa, 20, piazza Fuga) nel quartiere napoletano Vomero, sarà il gruppo The Bank American & West Coast Music. Tutto parte dall’idea che la musica può ancora contribuire ad aprire le porte del futuro a una nuova umanità. l’iniziativa sarà presentata da Mario Coppeto e durerà 1 ora.
The Bank (costituito da Marco Francini, Massimo Curcio, Roberto Trenca, Dario Franco, Marco Pierno, Marco Di Palo, Carlo Di Gennaro) custodisce il ricordo del movimento nato negli anni ’70 fatto di Rock Blues, West Coast, Country, Ballad e tante altre meravigliose visioni di quel periodo storico. La band abbraccia con amore e cura dei dettagli la passione artistica dei grandi nomi che furono protagonisti assoluti: Crosby, Still, Nash & Young, Jackson Browne, Eagles, America, J. J. Cale, Steve Miller Band, Bob Dylan, James Taylor.
L’appuntamento gratuito con la storia della musica internazionale anticipa lo spettacolo The Bank & Friends in programma al Teatro Bolivar di Napoli venerdì 28 febbraio alle 21. Tra gli ospiti, la folksinger Patrizia Lopez che da Los Angeles è approdata a Napoli mettendovi radici nonché i partenopei Brunella Sele e Maurizio Capone, fondatore dei Bungt Bangt.

Social media were the real showcase of Sanremo. They offered appreciation, criticism and even insults to be written for a post that could be followed by more people. It was a colourful festival that filled the evenings of many Italian families. And some of those who did not watch felt a little cut off from conversations with friends and relatives who were glued to the television instead.
But now that the lights are off, what can really come on is the desire for authentic music, beyond the spotlight. The occasion to celebrate this is a meeting linked to the musical memory of the seventies, condensed into a performance entitled ‘I have a dream, I have a dream’, after the name of the speech by the African-American civil rights leader Martin Luther King, assassinated in April 1968 precisely because of his fight against racial segregation. In the name of peace and freedom of thought, a way to show to the new generations.
On Saturday the 22nd of February at 11am, on the steps of the bookshop IoCiSto (Via Cimarosa, 20, Piazza Fuga) in the Neapolitan district of Vomero, the group The Bank American & West Coast Music will perform. It all begins with the idea that music can still help open the doors of the future to a new humanity. The event will be presented by Mario Coppeto and will last one hour.
